A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
Honoring
Angela Meroshnekoff
PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER
On the Occasion of Her Retirement
HEREAS, Angela L. Meroshnekoff [Angie] began her career with the City of Rohnert Park in May
1981 as a full time Office Assistant II for the Public Safety Department and was promoted to a
Public Safety Dispatcher in July 1985; and
WHEREAS, for almost the next 28 years, Angie worked in the Public Safety Department primarily as a
full -time dispatcher until becoming a part-time dispatcher in August 2007; and
W HEREAS, Angie has survived many transitions, such as: improved technology, written procedures,
documentation of training, and automation of various systems including telephones, voicemail,
computers, e -mail, CLETS, and record keeping systems. She was always one of the first people to
figure out not only how something worked, but how it could work best for dispatch and the officers
on the street; and
W HEREAS, Angie worked on numerous special projects and held several extra -duty assignments. She
performed as a Communications Training Officer (CTO), she was a Department of Justice (DOJ)
certified CLETS trainer. She became one of the department's first lead dispatchers in 1995 and when
that position was eliminated, she remained an informal leader within the communications center; and
W HEREAS, over her career Angie demonstrated professionalism and competency in handling every
type of call she encountered whether it involved murder or rape or a cat stuck in a tree; and
W HEREAS, one of the greatest services she provided was to the animal community. Angie had a love
for and comforting touch to any animal that was turned in after hours. She cared for turtles, birds,
snakes, cats, ducks, chickens and any other kind of animal that was in need. Many ended up finding a
home with her on her farm; and
W HEREAS, Angie not only mastered and succeeded in her career as a public safety dispatcher, but
succeeded in several other areas as well. She is a sheep breeder and exhibitor. She breeds and shows
Great Pyrenees dogs. She is an accomplished trail and dressage horse rider. She trains horses and
provides riding lessons.
N OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that it extends
its best wishes to Angela Meroshnekoff and sincerely thanks her for 28 years of
outstanding, dedicated service and for her commitment to the Rohnert Park community. We wish her
the best as she enjoys retirement with her husband, her animals, and her horse ranch.
