SPECIAL MEETING
May 10, 2005.

The Rohnert Park City Council met this date for a
Special Meeting to commence at 5:00 p.m. at the Rohnert
Park City Hall, Council Chambers, 6750 Commerce Boulevard,
Rohnert Park, with Mayor Mackenzie presiding.
CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Mackenzie CALLED the Special Meeting to order at
5:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL:
Present: (5) Councilmembers Flores, Smith and Spradlin;
Vice Mayor Vidak- Martinez; and Mayor Mackenzie
Absent: (0) None
Staff present for all or part of•the Regular Session:
Interim City Manager Donley, Assistant `City _Attorney Whelan,
Finance Director Lipitz, Recreation Servic'es,.I nager Miller,
Director Public Safety Bullard and Public S �ety Commander
Giesige.
UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES:
None.
BUDGET WORK SESSION:
FIVE -YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN (CIP) 2005 -06 TO
2009 -10:
Acting City Manager Donley reviewed the contents of
the Five -Year Capital Improvement Program Budget, and
staff responded to Council questions /comments. Council
CONCURRED TO AGENDIZE a discussion regarding the
undergrounding of the City's utilities by PG &E.

THREE -YEAR BUDGET PROJECTION 2005 -06 TO 2007 -08:
Finance Director Lipitz reviewed the Three -Year Budget
Projection and responded to Council questions /comments.
At the suggestion of Councilmember Spradlin, Mayor
Mackenzie DIRECTED STAFF to staff to prepare a balanced
budget with a separate sheet indicating what has been
taken out in order to balance the budget.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY PROPOSED 2005 -06 BUDGET:
Mayor Mackenzie stated that due to the lateness of the
hour, the Department of Public Safety's presentation
would be RESCHEDULED for the May 24, 2005 City Council
Work Session.
RECREATION DEPARTMENT PROPOSED 2005 -06 BUDGET:
Recreation Services Manager Miller reviewed the contents
of the Recreation Department Budget Workshop document and
responded to Council questions /comments. Council
CONCURRED TO DIRECT STAFF to work with the Parks and
Recreation Commission and to report back to Council on
short -term recommendations for the City's pools.
Furthermore, Mayor Mackenzie DIRECTED STAFF to bring
forward to Council formal requests for the Recreation
Department Capital Outlay not in the budget or in the CIP.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, Mayor Mackenzie ADJOURNED
the Special Meeting at 6:38 p.m.
