A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 FOR
TANKS 1, 3, 4, & 5 EXTERIOR RECOATING PROJECT NO. 2008-03 WITH
OLYMPUS AND ASSOCIATES, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Rohnert Park has a contract with Olympus and Associates, Inc.,
for the exterior coating of potable water tanks 1, 3, 4, & 5;
WHEREAS, staff recently discovered an urgent need to coat the interior of potable water
Tank;
WHEREAS, on June 12, 2012, Council heard the Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
that included a project to paint the interior of Water Tank I and directed that the CIP return for
approval on June 26, 2012;
WHEREAS, Olympus and Associates, Inc., provided a change order cost of $89,455 to
coat the interior of Tank I and install an accessway to meet safety requirements;
WHEREAS, staff has determined that the change order price offered by Olympus and
Associates, Inc., is reasonable and will lead to cost savings compared to a separate project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert
Park that it does hereby authorize and approve a change order in the amount of $89,455 to coat
the interior of Tank l and install an accessway in that tank.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute documents pertaining to same for and on behalf of the City of Rohnert Park.

Original Contract Amount: $499,549.50
Charge Order No. 1: $89,455.00
Contract Amount Including Change Order No. 1: $589,004.50
All work under this Change Order is subject to all Contract Provisions.
DESCRIPTION
Provide all necessary equipment, labor and material and perform all work required for the
preparation of the interior surfaces of Tank 1 for painting and provide interior coatings as
specified in the Contract Documents for the Water Storage Tanks Exterior Painting and
Improvements Project. All provisions and requirements of the Contract Documents shall apply to
the Work to be performed under this Request for Proposal. The Work to be provided shaII
include but not necessarily be limited to the following:
1. Preparation of interior surfaces for recoating (near white blast SSPC SP -10 profile).
2. Collection and disposal of all waste materials.
3. Lead paint containment during removal of existing coatings.
4. Environmental monitoring and testing as necessary during Work operations.
5. Installation of coatings to all interior tank surfaces and appurtenances.
6. Installation of 30 -inch diameter manway.
Total Agreed Lump Sum Price ................ ............................... $89,455.00
By reason of these approved changes, the Contract time shall be extended 30 Calendar Days.
