A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
ENDORSING THE COMMITTEE ON THE SHELTERLESS (COTS) APPLICATION
FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING TO HELP
SUPPORT THE COTS PROGRAM FOR EMERGENCY SHELTERS,
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES
FOR HOMELESS CHILDREN AND ADULTS
WHEREAS, the Sonoma County Community Development Commission ( SCCDC) is
taking applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) community service funds
for the 2008 -2009 program year for activities which benefit lower income households;
WHEREAS, one of the requirements for applying for CDBG funding from SCCDC is
endorsement from the community in which the applicant serves;
WHEREAS, the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) intends to apply for CDBG
community services funds to provide services to low- income families in Rohnert Park;
WHEREAS, the City of Rohnert Park commends COTS for its work in providing
emergency shelters, transitional housing and supportive services for homeless children and adults.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert
Park that it strongly supports and endorses the COTS application for CDBG funds in an amount
not to exceed $150,000.00 and urges approval of its application.
