A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park
Commending,
DUANE ROSENGREN, PUBLIC SAFETY SERGEANT,
ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Duane Rosengren has retired after 21 years of outstanding, dedicated service to
Public Safety and the citizens of Rohnert Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and staff are appreciative of the dependable and highly professional
work performed by Duane and wish to note his reputation as a dedicated employee; and
WHEREAS, Duane began his career as a Public Safety Officer and advanced to Public Safety
Sergeant; he has served in many facets of Public Safety including Patrol, Traffic, Training,
Hazardous Materials, and Fire Suppression. He obtained the ranks of Fire Engineer and Fire
Captain, and became proficient in structural and wildland firefighting techniques, investigated the
cause and origin of fires, and served as a member of the Mutual Aid Strike Team and a Strike Team
Leader. Duane responded to the wildland fires in Southern California in October 1993; and
WHEREAS, Duane served as the Department Training Manager, developing and enhancing many
programs including Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), First Responder. and EMT, Fire Officer
Development, and Rapid Intervention Team; and
WHEREAS, while assigned to Patrol, Duane was a member and supervisor of the Major Accident
Investigation Team (MAIT) and acted as lead investigator in two major fatal collisions; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Rosengren graduated from the Supervisory Leadership Institute and obtained
his Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Services Administration from Western Oregon University.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be suitably prepared and
presented to Public Safety Sergeant. Duane Rosengren as evidence of the appreciation, esteem,
respect and affection in which he is held.
DULY AND REGULARLY PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Rohnert Park City Council this
