A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
Approving
ENTERING INTO THE COUNTY -WIDE COLLABORATIVE GROUP AGREEMENT OF
THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COLLABORATION COUNCIL (EDCC) OF
SONOMA COUNTY TO PROMOTE THE ECONOMIC AND WORKFORCE
DEVELOPMENT OF SONOMA COUNTY
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that that certain Agreement
by and between the Economic Development Collabortion Council (EDCC) of Sonoma County
and the City of Rohnert Park, a Municipal Corporation, be and the same is hereby accepted to
promote Economic and Workforce Development.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
execute same for and on behalf of the City of Rohnert Park.

Agreement
Economic Development Collaboration Council of Sonoma County
This Agreement of the Economic Development Collaboration Council (EDCC) of Sonoma County is made and
entered into by and among the Economic Development Board, chambers, agencies, organizations, educational
institutions, and units of government in Sonoma County who agree to help ensure that economic and
employment development programs, services, and associated activities thrbughout Sonoma County are
effectively coordinated and executed.
WHEREAS, the parties recognize that the use of our individual economic and employment development
resources can be enhanced through the collaboration and coordination of unique and different services and
programs associated with economic vitality; and
WHEREAS, the parties agree that such services and programs are in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties, in an effort to maximize limited resources for economic and employment
development, agree to collaborate in the areas listed in Exhibit "A" attached hereto to promote the economic
and workforce development of Sonoma County.
BE IT FURTHER AGREED that the parties pledge to meet on an annual basis to review progress, discuss
plans, and seek new ways to collaborate to improve Sonoma County's economic vitality and workforce
development; and
BE IT FURTHER AGREED that new parties may join and existing parties may leave the Council at any time
by giving notice in writing to the Executive Director of the Sonoma County Economic Development Board
(EDB); and
BE IT FURTHER AGREED that signing this agreement does not bind any party, individual or group, to
participate in or endorse all the activities listed in this document, but allows each individual or group to
participate to the greatest extent possible in accordance with its resources and goals; and
BE IT FURTHER AGREED signing this agreement does not obligate any party to provide financial support, in-
kind or other support, for the E.,DCC's programs and operations

2006 Initiatives
Economic Development Collaboration Council of Sonoma County
We believe we must cooperate and collaborate to help solve the county's existing problems and to create future
opportunities. In support of common solutions and shared plans, we resolve to coordinate our time, resources,
and thoughts so we may improve the region. Our immediate initiatives include:
Starting a regional economic development police forum focused on nurturing entrepreneurship; and
assisting the start-up, expansion, and retention of businesses.
2. Creating a shared resource of the current Economic and Employment Development activities of the
Economic Development Collaboration Council of Sonoma County signatories to identify the activities that
will advance cooperation to benefit local businesses, governments, and residents while establishing an
infrastructure to share knowledge and foster cooperation and collaboration.
3_ Supporting a strong brand for Sonoma County that captures and reinforces what makes this a great place
to live, work, own a business and raise a family_ This effort is to be conducted in cooperation with the
hospitality, tourism, agriculture and other sectors as appropriate.
4_ Pursuing Workforce and Education development initiatives, including coordination among educational
institutions, training/retraining programs, internships, and efforts to develop the local labor force.
