RESOLUTION NO. 2006 -156 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AN AGREEMENT WITH COASTLAND CIVIL ENGINEERING FOR ENGINEERING PLAN AND MAP CHECKING TO INCLUDE ON -CALL INSPECTION SERVICES WHEREAS, the City desires to obtain On -Call Public Works ,Inspection services and; WHEREAS, Coastland Civil Engineering submitted a proposal indicating they have the experience and expertise to provide said services and; WHEREAS, Coastland Civil Engineering provides similar services to the City for building plan, engineering map and plan checking; WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement with Coastland Civil Engineering for engineering plan and map checking services on June 14, 2005 authorized by Resolution Number 2005 -180. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that an agreement with Coastland Civil Engineering for engineering plan and map checking services is hereby amended to include On -Call Inspection Services and the City Manager is authorized to execute said amendment in substantially similar form to the attached amendment for and on behalf of the City of Rohnert Park. We understand that initially the City desires that Coastland be involved with certain inspection aspects of the Canon Manor Subdivision. Coastland is very familiar with this project as we have been providing the required Plan Check services for the City. Coastland's inspectors are very experienced with inspecting private development projects as we presently provide construction inspection services for subdivisions and private developments for the cities of Santa Rosa, Cloverdale, Calistoga and American Canyon and the Towns of Yountville and Windsor. An outline of the services we provide for these jurisdictions is detailed in the enclosed Scope of Services. We believe our staff is uniquely qualified to provide the desired services. Enclosed are resumes of construction inspection personnel who are available now or in the near future. These inspectors may change; depending on when you contact us for our services (we have 13 to choose from). Coastland has the largest Construction Management Department in the North Bay and is rapidly developing a reputation for excellence in the Foothills. Once Canon Manor is complete, the City will then annex it into the City of Rohnert Park. OF WORK Based on the City of Rohnert Park's needs and our experience in other jurisdictions, the following is our proposed scope of work to provide Construction Inspection services for Private Development projects: Task No. 1 PreConstruction During the pre- construction phase of the project, Coastland can provide the following services: Take pre- construction photos of the project site including adjacent properties Review the construction plans for important discussion points and possible problems and /or changes Review any right -of -way issues Review utility relocation status Review order-of-work requirements Attend the pre- construction conference. In addition to his extensive construction experience, Mr. Powell has completed several relevant courses including commercial blueprint reading, building codes, architectural drafting and Auto - Cad. Prior to his employment with Coastland, Mr. Powell was employed as a Public Works Supervisor for the Town of Corte Madera. He was responsible for the street maintenance, sewer collection systems and flood control. Mr. Powell has a grade 2 certificate from the State of California in collection systems repair and pump maintenance and has two certificates of completion from Sacramento State in collection systems. Prior to his employment with Corte Madera, Mr. Powell was employed at the City of Santa Rosa's Water Department.
