JIMMIE PAYNE
FORMER MR. AMERICA
WHEREAS: On Wednesday, May 3, 2006, former Mr. America Jimmie Payne turned 80; and
WHEREAS: Among his many accomplishments, Jimmie is a five times World Wrist - Wrestling Champion,
TV Emcee, Hand Balancing Partner with celebrity Jack LaLanne, and all around Fitness
Motivator; and
WHEREAS: At age 70, Jimmie began a ten -year career coaching members of Stan Bennett's gym in
Rohnert Park.
HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that Jimmie
Payne be honored at this time for his unique accomplishments and for inspiring hundreds of
people to become physically fit.
