A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
ENDORSING THE ACCEPTANCE OF $14,159.00 IN FEDERAL FUNDS FROM THE
2013 EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG)
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Rohnert park is facing serious deficit in the General Fund and
the reduction of employee cost is a matter of great concern and discussion; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed grant program will fund an enhancement to our previously
grant- funded Barcode -based Property & Evidence Inventory Management and Control System
for the Department of Public Safety which will enhance efficiency and accountability while
simultaneously reducing employee time and effort expended; and,
WHEREAS, the program will also fund additional Mobile Radio Communications
Equipment by replacement of outdated and non - compliant radio components, increasing
community safety, and ensuring compliance with mandates from the Federal Communications
Commission ; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will supplement greatly reduced funding for such activities,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park
that it does hereby authorize the City Manager or his designee from Public Safety to submit for,
accept and allocate funding from the 2013 JAG Program in the amount of $14,159.00.
