2014/10/28 City Council Resolution 2014-130WHEREAS, the City entered into a Master Agreement with Green Valley Consulting Engineers for Design Professional Services on January 26, 2011 pursuant to City Council Resolution No. 2011-07 adopted on January 25, 2011; and WHEREAS, the City entered into a Task Order No. 2014-02 with Green Valley Consulting Engineers for On-Call Inspection Services for University District Sheet Grading Phase 2 (City Permit BDGR2014-00001) for an amount not to exceed $48,935.00, pursuant to City Purchasing Policy 441.1.5 adopted by City Council Resolution No. 2012-22; and V0HERJOAS, the funding limits of$48,935.0O for Task Order No. 20l4-O2 are being approached; and WHEREAS, the University District development is proceeding with additional improvements, such as construction of a storm drain in Snyder Lane and Rohnert Park Expressway, utility extensions within Rohnert Park Expressway and rough grading of new roadways and building pads, which require city inspection and acceptance; and WHEREAS, to retain continuity of inspection services and project understanding, staff requested a proposal for retaining Green Valley Consulting Engineers; WHEREAS, a proposal to amend Task Order No. 2014-02 for a not to exceed an qdditional One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) has been submitted by Green Valley Consulting Engineers; and WHEREAS, the City Council considered the amendment of Task Order No 2014-02 at its duly noticed regular meeting of October 28, 2014; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that it does hereby authorize and approve the First Amendment to Task Order No. 2014-02 by and between Green Valley Consulting Engineers, a California Corporation, and the City of Rohnert Park, a municipal corporation, for On-Call Inspection Services for University District BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to take all actions to effectuate this the First Amendment to Task Order No. 2014-02 for and on behalf of the City of Rohnert Park, including execution, if necessary, in substantially similar form to the First Amendment attached hereto and incorporated by this reference as Exhibit "A," subject to minor modifications by the City Manager or City Attorney. The purpose of the MASTER AGREEMENT is to provide the City with access to qualified municipal engineering service providers to augment staff resources as needed. (}n April 8,20]4. the City Council nf the City of}lnbuedPark approved a number o[ resolutions related to the University District development and the developer has begun construction work including onoite grading and the installation of off-site utility and roadway improvements. On August 9, 2014, the City entered into Task Order No. 2014-02 with Consultant, under the MASTER AGREEMENT, for $48,935,tn provide for on-call construction management and inspection services for the University District development through the end of October 2Ol4, when initial construction activity was planned inbecomplete. The University District development has secured approvals for additional construction activity that will continue into 2015 and Consultant im uniquely quulificdto continue toprovide inspection services because of its history and familiarity with the project and its design.
