Adjourned Regular Session
December 7, 1993
The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in adjourned
regular session in the City Offices, 6750 Commerce Boulevard,
Rohnert Park, Ca, with Mayor Hollingsworth presiding. Prior to
calling the meeting to order, Mayor Hollingsworth asked for a
moment of silence for the family and friends of Polly Klaas.
Call to Order -Mayor Hollingsworth called the adjourned regular session to order
at approximately 7:05 p.m. and led the pledge of allegiance.
Roll Call Present: (5) Councilmembers Eck, Gallagher, Reilly, Spiro,
and Mayor Hollingsworth
Absent: (0) None
Staff present for all or part of the meeting: City Manager
Netter, City Attorney Flitner, Assistant City Manager Leivo,
Finance Director Harrow, Planning Director Skanchy, Recreation
Director Pekkain, Director of Public Works /City Engineer Brust,
Director of Public Safety Rooney.
Reflections Each Councilmember made brief statements regarding the past year
and comments of visions of looking forward to the challenges in
the upcoming year.
Mayor Hollingsworth then reflected on the accomplishments of the
City and the community during his term as Mayor. He thanked other
Councilmembers, City Manager Netter, and the City Manager's
Secretary and other staff members for making his job easier during
the past year. He continued to outline the positive
accomplishments of the City during his tenure as Mayor.
Following the comments by Mayor Hollingsworth, Councilembers Eck
and Spiro added comments to acknowledge outgoing Mayor
Hollingsworth for his leadership and patience during the past
year.
Selection Upon motion by Councilmember Spiro, seconded by Vice Mayor Reilly,
of Vice and unanimously approved, Councilmember Dave Eck was appointed as
Mayor Mayor Pro- Tempore (Vice Mayor).
Selection Upon motion by Councilman Dave Eck, seconded jointly by
of Mayor Councilmembers Gallagher and Spiro, and unanimously approved, Vice
Mayor James Reilly was appointed as Mayor.
Mayor Reilly expressed appreciation to outgoing Mayor
Hollingsworth and made additional comments of appreciation for his
service during the past interesting year.

Mayor Reilly thanked the City Council for his appointment and
introduced his family and friends who were in the audience.
Mayor Reilly then presented outgoing Mayor Hollingsworth with a
framed aerial photo of the City of Rohnert Park as an expression
of the City's appreciation for his year of service as Mayor.
Mayor Reilly again thanked the Council for his appointment as
Mayor and discussed some upcoming challenges for the City in the
coming year.
Matters from (1) Information item m Swearing in ceremony for the new Director
Council: of Public Safety Pat Rooney will be held at the Red Lion Inn
Swearing in on Tuesday, December 14, 1993 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Director of just prior to the regular City Council meeting.
Public Safety
(2) Councilmember Gallagher requested approval to attend two (2)
conferences: 1) Local Government Commission Restructuring
Task Force on December 9th; and 2) Capitol Seminars
"Legislative Process" meetings in Sacramento, Dec. 14 & 15,
1993
Councilmember Spiro commented that she is the designated
Councilmember to the Local Government Commission
Restructuring Task Force and she would be attending that
meeting.
Vice Mayor Eck indicated that Councilwoman Gallagher's items
are not on tonight's agenda and directed the City Manager to
list them on the December 14, 1993 agenda and that
Councilwoman Gallagher would be taking her chances for
approval or non - approval by the Council at the meeting of
December 14, 1993.
Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
approximately 7:25 p.m. to refreshments.
