Ordinance No. 494 authorizes, without application to the Rent Appeals Board, an increase in space rents through an Annual General Adjustment based on 75% of the CPI from October to October of each year not to exceed 4 %. The October 1989 Index was 127.5 compared to the October 1990 Index of 134.6. This amounts to a 7.1 point increase which represents a 5.57° -o change. 75% of the 5.57°-0 equals a 4.18% increase, rounded to the nearest one quarter of one percent equals 4.25°x. Therefore, the maximum amount that landlords iftay charge based on the Annual General Adjustment is 4 %.
