The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in adjourned session
commencing at 6:00 p.m. in the City Offices, 6750 Commerce Boulevard, Rohnert
Park, with Mayor Eck presiding.
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Eck called the adjourned session to order at approximately 6:00 p.m..
ROLL CALL Present: (4) Councilmembers Flores, Reilly, Spiro and Mayor Eck
Absent: (1) Councilmember Gallagher (due to work conflict)
Staff present for all or part of the meeting: City Manager Netter, City Attorney
Flitner, Assistant City Manager Leivo, Director of Public Works /City Engineer
Brust and Planning Director Skanchy.
UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES: Mayor Eck stated that in compliance with State Law
(The Brown Act), citizens wishing to make a comment may do so at this time.
Jake Mackenzie, 1536 Gladstone Way, Chairman of Bicycle Advisory Committee, referred to
Government Code Section 2.08 pertaining to Council procedural rules and rules of
decorum. Mr. Mackenzie reviewed related concerns and inquired about
enforcement possibilities.
Linda Worthington, 8080 Mitchell Avenue, indicated regrets that her husband, Chip Worthington, was
out of town and unable to attend tonight. She expressed appreciation to Mayor
Eck for his past year of service as Mayor and congratulated incoming Mayor
Flores for his appointment. Ms. Worthington commented further on the great
community of Rohnert Park and all it has to offer youths and families.
Jim Clark, 80 Walnut Circle, expressed disagreement with comments of Jake Mackenzie, the first
speaker.
REFLECTIONS: Various reflections were shared by each Councilmember pertaining to efforts of
the past year and the anticipation of positive accomplishments ahead. With
acknowledgment of Mayor Eck's previous announcement that he would not be
running for re- election next November, Councilmembers expressed special
appreciation to Mayor Eck for all his years of service. Council also complimented
the efforts and support of City staff.

COMMENTS OF OUTGOING MAYOR: Mayor Eck recognized former Councilmembers present at
the meeting, as well as numerous representatives of other City Commissions,
Committees and Boards, and expressed appreciation for the efforts and support of
City staff. Mayor Eck reviewed various accomplishments of the past year
acknowledging the teamwork effort on the part of everyone involved toward
successful results. He also expressed appreciation for the public support received
during his years on the Council.
SEATING OF COUNCIL OFFICERS (Mayor and Vice Mayor)
Council acknowledged the election of Mayor Flores and Vice Mayor Eck during
the Council meeting of Tuesday, December 12, 1995.
Former Mayor Eck turned the gavel over to Mayor Flores.
Mayor Flores expressed appreciation to outgoing Mayor Eck and presented him
with a pocket watch with engraved case as an expression of appreciation from the
City for his service as Mayor during the past year.
Mayor Flores expressed further appreciation for the efforts of City staff and
acknowledged staff members present at the meeting. Mayor Flores introduced
members of his family present and expressed appreciation for his family's support.
Mayor Flores reviewed desires and goals for the upcoming year.
ADJOURNMENT. ° There being no further business, Mayor Flores adjourned the meeting to
refreshments at approximately 6:35 p.m.
