The Council'of the City,of Rohnert; Park met;,this dale
in a Town Mee tixig commencing at 7;35 p.m. in the
City Offices, 6750 Commerce Boulevard, Rohnert Park,
with Mayor Roberts presiding.
Call to Order
Mayon Roberts called the meeting to order at approxi-
mately 7.35 p '.m.
Welcome.
Mayor Roberts welcomed all those present to the Town
M etro , advised it.was being held to discuss,' in,an..
irorr,al manner, any items of interest.
Regional Park .,
Councilman Flores and Parks and Recreation Director
Pekka"in gave a slide presE!btation of the proposed
regional park property. Mr. Flores reported that
several parcels of property had been investigated and
Rapozo property had been recommended by the Parks
,the
and Recreation Commission for acquisition. Several,
citizens were recognized and spoke in favor of acquiring
the proposed regional park site.
Introductions
Mayor Roberts introduced the city staff and department
heads present and advised they were available for
questions.
Stadium Project
Councilman Beary reviewed developments to date in
acquiring a stadium for community use and advised that
the latest proposal was to use the college on
a lease basis. Parks and Recreation Director Pekkain
showed slides of the college stadium facility. Dis-
cussion followed concerning the stadium project with
several citizens participating.
Recess
Mayor Roberts declared a recess at this point in the
meeting, the time being approximately 9:30 p.m.

Reconvene
Mavor Roberts reconvened the meeting at approximately
9:45 P.M.
Growth Policy
Councilman Smith reviewed his prepared growth policy
for Rohnert Park. A lengthy discussion followed on
development and growth in the community with several
citizens participating.
Crime Prevention
Steve Cincera was recognized. He, asked what might be
done to curb thefts and vandalism to automobiles at
night. Chief Dennett responded that it was a difficult
crime to combat, but some concentrated efforts were
being planned.
Traffic
Glenn Durden was recognized. He suggested that

to mark the Lanes since they were particularly
difficult to see during rain storms.

Youth Programs
Pete Rosenwald,, 1701 East Cotati Avenue, was recognized.
He commented generally about various matters and also
suggested that application be made to CCCJ for funds
for youth programs. Chief Dennett responded that
application had already been made and funds received
for the Officer Bill program which is being conducted
in the elementary schools. He also mentioned the
Police Explorer Troop that is active.
Development
General discussion was held concerning growth and
development in the community with several citizens
participating.
Adjournment
Mayor Roberts adjourned the meeting at approximately
11:15 pom.
