1974/02/28 City Council MinutesROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL MINUTES February 28, 1974 The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in adjourned special session com- mencing at 7:30 p.m. in the City Offices, 6750 Commerce Boulevard, Rohnert Park,-.with Mayor Flores presiding. Call to Order Mayor Flores called the meeting of the adjourned special session to order at approxi- mately 7:40 p.m. Present: (4) Councilmen Beary, Hopkins, Roberts and Flores Absent: (1) Councilman Smith Staff and others present: Assistant to the City Manager Albright, service station operators and press correspondents. Mr. Fred Andreoli was recognized. He reported that the Shell and Texaco stations had reduced gasoline allocations for the month of March and that Rohnert Park Texaco would not be able to open to the public during March since his entire allocation would be required for the Post Office, school buses, and Storer Cable TV vehicles. He advised that the Sonoma County Dealers' Association had adopted the ",odd-even" plan and that local stations would be observing same as well as opening at 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. General discussion followed concerning people still "topping" their tanks, long lines, how the "odd-even" plan works, the probability of the stations being able to stay in business under the circumstances, and the hope that the situation would get better. Mayor Flores read Resolution No. 7424 adopted at the February 19th meeting. Discussion followed. Upon motion of Councilman Hopkins, seconded by Councilman Beary, and unanimously approved, staff was directed to send a letter contain- ing more specific information along with Resolution No. 74-24 to .those named in said resolution as well as to the U.S. Senators. L t. 1- 4. 1- " Y-LOU per week-end: AYES: (3) Councilmen Beary, Roberts, and Flores NOES: (1) Councilman Hopkins ABSENT: (1) Councilman Smith Councilman Hopkins stated for the record that he was in favor of providing the service but felt there should be a token charge such as 25�. Mayor Flores stated for the record that he was not opposed to having people pay, but this is an emergency measure and the legalities of charging are not now known.
