Upon motion of Councilman Rogers, seconded by Councilman
Roberts, and unanimously approved, the City Council gave
tentative approval to the Anticipated Revenues section of
the proposed 1970 -71 budget.
Detailed Expendi- City Manager Callinan advised that department heads were
tures present and available for questions on the budget relating
to their respective departments.
Mayor Smith suggested the salaries portion of each depart-
ment's budget be omitted in the discussion and taken as a
separate item for consideration by the Council.
Health Insurance Councilman Hopkins initiated a discussion regarding health
insurance for city employees. Thomas Feeney, Insurance
agent for the city was present and participated in the dis-
cussion. He advised that the projected increase in cost for
health insurance was due to increased coverage and addition
of a proposed dental plan.
Council decided to discuss health insurance in conjunction
with salaries and requested Mr. Feeney to come back with
separate figures for increased health coverage and the pro-
posed dental plan.
Councilman Rogers Councilman Rogers left the Council Chambers at this point

turned at approximately 8 :10 p.m.
The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in ad-
journed regular session at 7 :00 p.m. in the City Offices,
435 Southwest Boulevard, Rohnert Park, with Mayor Smith
presiding.
Call to Order
Mayor Smith called the meeting of the adjourned regular
session to order at approximately 7 :10 p.m.
Roil Call
Present: (4) Councilmen Hopkins, Roberts, Rogers and
Smith.
Absent: (1) Councilman Buchanan
Staff Present: City Manager Callinan, Assistant to the City
Manager Albright, Supt, of Public Mork Wiggine
Director of Public Safety Dennett, and Golf
Course Supt. Singh.
1970 -71 Budget
City Manager Callinan reviewed the action to date taken on
the 1970 -71 'budget.
Revenues Budget
City Manager Callinan reviewed and explained the Anticipated
Revenues section of the budget.

Chamber of Commerce Mayor Smith asked if the Chamber of Commerce would be
appearing before the Council to request funds. He advised
that he felt the city should participate more *ith the
Chamber of Commerce and suggested the possibility of a formal
contract between the city and the Chamber.
General Government City Manager Callinan reviewed the preliminary budget for
Budget General Government. A brief discussion was held on several
items contained therein.
Upon motion of Councilman Rogers, seconded by Councilman
Roberts, and unanimously approved, the City Council gave
tentative approval to the General Government Proposed Budget
for 1970 -71, excluding salaries and wages.
Public Safety City Manager Callinan reviewed the preliminary budget for the
Budget Public Safety Department and pointed out that an additional
man had been requested for the department. A discussion was
held between the Council, Mr. Callinan and Chief Dennett.
Upon motion of Councilman Rogers, seconded by Councilman
Hopkins, and unanimously approved, the City Council gave
tentative approval to the Public Safety Proposed Budget
for 1970 -71 excluding salaries and wages.
Public Works Budget City Manager Callinan reviewed the preliminary budget for
Public Works and pointed out that an additional man had been

the Council, Mr. Callinan and Mr. Wiggins concerning the
Public Works budget and activities.
Upon motion of Councilman Hopkins, seconded by Councilman
Rogers, and unanimously approved, the City Council gave tentW
ative approval to the Public Works Proposed Budget for
1970 -71 excluding salaries and wages.
Meeting Announce - Mayor Smith announced the regular Council meeting would be
ments held July 6, and, after discussion with the Council, announc-
ed the next budget work session for 7 :00 p.m., July 7, dur-
ing which the contract with Golf Pro Bob Porter would be
discussed.
Men's Golf Club Mayor Smith recognized a group from the Rohnert Park Men's
Golf Club and asked if they had a presentation.
Bill Ayers, 7124 Brenda Way; Al Appleton, Cotati; Whitey
Stratton, 342 Bruce Ave.; and Jerry Dadey, Petaluma were
recognized individually and spoke in support of the golf
course operation and Golf Pro Porter. Mr. Paul Golis was
also recognized and responded to some of the comments. Dis-
cussion followed during which the Council suggested that
those interested in Mr. Porter's contract express their feel -
ings to the committee of Councilmen Hopkins and Roberts.
Any further discussion regarding the golf course was

scheduled for the meeting to be held Tuesday, July 7.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned
at 9:20 p.m.
