July 16, 1968
The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date
in adjourned regular session at 8:30 p.m. in the City
Offices, 435 Southwest Boulevard, Rohnert Park, with
Mayor Roberts presiding.
Call to Order Mayor Roberts called the meeting to order at approxi-
mately 8:30 p.m.
Roll Call Present: (4) Councilmen Hopkins, Roberts, Rogers and
Smith
Absent; (1) Councilman Buchanan
Staff Present; City Manager Callinan, Planning Consul-
tant F. G. Lehman
Others Present; Dr. Lauren Anderson and Mrs. Jane Faust,
President and Secretary, respectively,
of the Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce.
General Plan Mr. F. G. Lehman reviewed with the Council the proposed
changes in the land use and circulation maps of the
General Plan.
Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Rogers, and unanimously approved, the Council authorized
the printing of a revised land use map for the General
Plan in accordance with the changes discussed with
Mr. Lehman.
Budget Work Dr. Anderson and Mrs. Faust made a comprehensive pre -
Session sentation of the Chamber of Commerce's proposed budget
for 1968-1969 and solicited Council's approval of a
budget allocation from the City to the Chamber. Dis-
cussion was held on many of the items contained in the
Chamber's proposed budget. Discussion was also held on
several functions of the Chamber and the Chamber's rela-
tion with the City and the community.
Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Rogers, and unanimously approved, the City Council gave
tentative approval to including $2,100 in the City's
1968 -1969 budget for allocation to the Chamber of
Commerce for community promotion purposes.
Parks and City Manager Callinan reviewed the preliminary budget
Recreation for Parks & Recreation.
Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Rogers, and unanimously approved, the City Council gave
tentative approval to the Parks & Recreation Preliminary
Budget for 1968 -1969.

City Manager Callinan commenced a review of the General
Government budgets.
Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Rogers, and unanimously approved, the City Council gave
tentative approval to the General Government section of
the 1968 -1969 Preliminary Budget.
City Attorney A brief discussion was held concerning City Attorney
Compensation Maxwell's request for an increase in his monthly com-
pensation.
Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Rogers, and unanimously approved, the City Council went
on record as indicating its intent to include in the
1968 -1969 budget sufficient funds to increase City
Attorney Maxwell's compensation to $400 per month.
East Cotati Mayor Roberts advised the Council of an inquiry that he
Avenue had received from an East Cotati Avenue resident of
Cotati about the possibility of receiving sewer service
from Rohnert Park.
Work Session Councilman Smith reported briefly on the work session
with Cotati that he and Councilman Hopkins had prior to this meeting
with respresentatives of Cotati concerning the possi-
bility of Rohnert Park providing sewer service to Cotati,
Adjournment There being no further business the meeting was adjournec
at approximately 10:30 P.M. to 8:00 p.m., Monday,
July 29, 1968.
