July 1, 1964
The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this
date in adjourned session at 7 :30,p.m. at the City
Offices, 435 Southwest Blvd., Rohnert Park, with
Vice - -Mayor Rogers presiding.
Roll Call Present: (4) Councilman. Pezonella, Rogers,
C. Smith and V. Smith.
Absent: (1) Mayor Buchanan.
Staff Present: Also present were City Manager
Callinan, City Attorney Maxwell and City Treasurer
O'Neil.
Temporary Upon motion by Councilman Pezonella, seconded by
Secretary Councilman C. Smith, and unanimously approved,
City Manager Callinan was appointed as temporary
secretary for the purposes ^f recording the minutes
of this meeting.
Bills Upon motion by Councilman Pezonella, seconded by
Councilman V. Smith, and unanimously approved, the
bill from Reliable Printing Service, dated June 23,
1964, in the amount of $79 *56,,,was approved for
payment.
Upon motion by Councilman V. Smith, seoonded by
Councilman Pezonella, and unanimously approved,
payment in the amount of $2.00 to the Bank.of
America was authorized to cover the cost of the
transferring the registration on fire engine number
142 in connection with the refinancing of same.
Resolution 181 Upon motion by Councilman V. Smith, seconded by
Councilman C. Smith, and unanimously approved,
Resolution 181'was adopted by title, being a
RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE COUNTY TREASURER AS PAY
AGENT FOR PAYMENT OF BONDS AND COUPONS --SPECIAL
ASSESSMENTS AND ASSESSMENT BOND PROCEEDINGS.
Trees in the Upon motion by Councilman C. Smith, seconded by
Shopping Centor Councilman V. Smith, and unanimously approved, the
Council approved the planting of fruitless mulberry
trees around the shopping center perimeter.
City Manager Callinan advised the Council that he
had also had a request from Mr. Paul Golis to'have
the City take over the maintenance of these trees,
and he has referred the matter to Supt. of Public
Works, Bill Wiggins, for review and comment before

City Attorney Maxwell explained to the City
Council_ the-petition for a hearing before the full
Riblic Utilities Commission that had been submitted
by -he Northwestern Pacifi.c Railroad. He outlined
the steps he had taken upon receipt of a copy of
this petition. He further advised the Council
that 'no further action will _be required until he”
hears further from'the P.U.C'. and thus, no addit-
ional -legal fees °will be-incurred related to this
matter until he advises the Council further at a
later date.

compensation which 'the'.Council received in their
capacity as directors of the Community Services
District, Upon questioning by Councilman Pezonella,
City Attorney ' Maxwell expressed his opinion that
the payment,of this compensation or fees has been
authorized by the Community Services District law,
and payment'to.the Council -.is entirely legal.
Councilman C. Smith initiated a brief discussion
concerning the proposed raise in property taxes for
the fiscal year 1964 -6.5. No action was taken by
the Council.

that he will require to attend the annual League

City Attorney Maxwell advised the Council that he
will submit the requested estimate.
Business Licenses A brief discussion was held concerning the assess-
ing of business license fees on realtors who are
based outside the City. At the conclusion of the
discussion, City Attorney Maxwell was requested to
draw up a suggested policy and/or a proposed amend.-
ment to the Business License Ordinance for review
by the City Council and City Manager.
Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 9 p.m.
