ROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL 1964 13 July The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in adjourned 435 Southwest Blvd., Rohnert session at 8:00 p.m. in the City Offices, Park, with Mayor Buchanan presiding. Roll Call Present: (5) Mayor Buchanan, Councilmen Pezonella, Rogers, C, Smith, V. Smith. Absent: (0) Temporary Upon motion by Councilman Pezonella, seconded by Councilman Rogers and secretary for Secretary unanimously approved, City Manager Callinan was appointed the purpose of taking the minutes of this meeting, Industrial The purpose of this meeting was to allow representatives of P.G. &E's to a and to discuss Growth Department of Area Development make presentation the City Council possible means by which the City of Rohnert Park with could accellerate it's industrial growth. Those present representing P.G. &E, were Mr. Walsh, Manager of Area De- Mr. O'Shaughn- velopment, Mr. Ludke, Commercial Development Consultant, essy, District Manager, Mr. Frank Anderson and Mr. Moore. Representing the Rohnert Park development group were Messrs. Paul Go- Mr. Milton Hudis. lis and Norman Spivock and their consulting engineer, City Planning Commissioners Goff and Cronin were also present, and rep- resenting the press was Flora Preston of the Rohnert Park Press, Mr. Walsh explained to the City Council and others presents the func- tion of his department and the reasons that P.G. &E. sponsors such ser- vices to the various communities in the State. Both Mr. Walsh and Mr. to Ludke presented many items and suggestions to the City Council as what might be done to try and entice industry to locate in Rohnert Park. They pointed out a project such as this would require a unifi- cation of the community and the tying together of various community organizations so that the community's energies could be generated and placed in the proper channels to promote industry development. Both these gentlemen suggested to the Council the appointment of an Indus- trial Development Committee made up of individuals which would be rep- resentative of a cross section of the business community of Rohnert Park. A question and answer period was held during which Mr. Walsh and Mr. Council Ludke answered and explained all points asked by members of the and others present. At the conclusion of the discussion, Mayor Buchanan thanked the repre- sentatives of P.G. &E. for taking their time to come and talk to the Council on this matter and advised that the Council would consider ap- pointing an Industrial Development Committee.
