1966/05/26 City Council MinutesROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL MINUTES May 26, 1966 The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in special session at 8:30 P.M. in the City Office's; 435 Southwest'Boulevard, Rohnert Park with Mayor C. Smith presiding. Call to Order Mayor C. Smith called the meeting to order. Roll Call Present: Councilman Pezonella, Rogers, V. Smith and Mayor C. Smith. Absent: None Late': Councilman Roberts; time of arrival noted in the minutes. . Staff present: City Manager %Callinan, John Quinn of the Sonoma County Planning Dept. Dick Lieb - Use City Manager Callinan and Planner John Quinn re- Permit Application viewed the application for the Council. The Carwash on South- applicant, Mr.`Dick Li ab, wes present as was the west Blvd. property owner Mr. Maurice Fredericks. A list of; suggeste -d conditions to .be applied to the use permit were presented by staff. Councilman Roberts Councilman Roberts arrived at this point in the arrival meeting, the 'tiine being 9:'00 P.M. Councilman Rogers moved and Councilman Pezonella seconded that a use permit -be granted for a carwash on Southwest Boulevard in accordance with the' sketches and plot plans submitted and subject to the.conditions'suggested by staff as amended by the City Council. Said motion was unanimously approved by a voice vote.` The conditions referred to are on file in the City Office. Development along Councilman V. Smith moved that the Council go on Southwest Blvd. record to'the effect that no further use permits will be granted for the area along Southwest Blvd. until a master plan of development has been submitted for the Southwest Blvd. area and approv- ed by the.. City Council. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Rogers and approved by the following voice vote: AYES: (4) Councilmen Pezonella, Rogers, V. -Smith and Mayor C. Smith NOES: (1 )'None ABSTAIN(l) Councilman Roberts Page -2- May 26, 1966 Gulf Oil Use City Manager Callinan and Planner John Quinn re- Permit Applica- viewed for the Council the application for a Lion - Service service station at the Wilfred Avenue- Frontage Station Road -anal Commerce Boulevard intersection. Mr. Schillingg;` Gulf Oil representative, was present and participated`in the discussion with the Council. Staff presented a list of suggested conditions that should be a part of the granting of the use permit. Upon motion by Council Rogers, seconded by Councilman Pezonella and unanimously approved, th_. Council went on record as making the findings required.by the zoning ordinance prior to the granting..'of a.variance. Councilman_ Rogers moved and Councilman Pezonella seconded that the Council grant a use permit for the service station in accordance with the sketches_and, plot. plan submitted subject to the conditions recommended by staff as amended by the City- Council. Saki motion was approved by the following voice vote: AYES: (4) Councilmen Pezonella, Roberts, Rogers and Mayor C. Smith NOES: (1) Councilman'V> Smith The conditions referred to are on file in the City Office. Temporary Use A brief discussion was held concerning the carni- Permt for val scheduled for May 27 through May 30, 1966 Carnival in the shopping center area. Councilman Rogers moved that the City Council grant a temporary use permit for the :carnival and waive the business license fee stipulated in the City Ordinance and that a business license fee,of $5.00 be charged. After a brief discussion among the Council members concerning this matter, Councilman Rogers with - drew his motion.` Councilman Roberts moved that a $5.00 per day business license fee be charged to the carnival or a total of $20.00 for the four days. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Rogers and approved by the following voice vote: AYES: (4) Councilmen Pezonella, Roberts, Rogers and Mayor C. Smith NOES: (1) Councilman V. Smith. Page -3- May 26, 1966 Councilman Pezonella moved that a temporary use permit be granted to the carnival to operate in the shopping center May 27th through May 30, 1966. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Rogers and approved by the following voice vote. AYES: (4) Councilman Pezonella, Roberts, Rogers and Mayor C. Smith. NOES: None ABSTAIN:(1) Councilman V. Smith Good Neighbor Days A brief discussion was held concerning the Good Neighbor Day BBQ scheduled for May 30, 1966. Chairman of this project, Councilman Pezonella requested the.
