1966/06/23 City Council MinutesROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL MINUTES June 23, 1966 The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date an adjourned session at 7:00 P -M- in the City Offices, 435 Southwest Blvd., Rohnert Park, with Mayor C. Smith presiding. Call to Order Mayor C. Smith called the meeting to order. Roll Call Present: (3) Absent: (1) Late: (1). Staff Present: Milt Hudis. &J,gn Request k Councilmen Pezonella, Roberts and Mayor C. Smith. Councilman Rogers Councilman V. Smith, time of arrival is noted in the minutes. City Manager Callinan, Consulting Engineer Golis & Fredericks sign variance - 6950 Commerce Blvd. Mr. Maurice Fredericks, the applicant, was present to dis- cuss with the Council his request for a sign variance to ,permit the erection of a 2 ft. by 15 ft. sign for Charm- wood Homes on the top of his office building at 6950 Commerc:: Blvd.. Councilman Pezonella moved that the City Council has made the findings required for the granting of a variance and that_a variance be granted to Golis & Fredericks to permit the erection:.of the:sign subject to the following conditions: 1. That the sign be lowered at least one foot. :2. That the City.Manager. approve the color scheme for .the sign. Said motion was seconded by Councilman Roberts and passed by the following vote: AYES: (2) Councilman Pezonella, Roberts OPPOSED: (1) Mayor C. Smith ABSENT: (2) Councilman Rogers & V. Smith :1966 -67 Preliminary A work session was held concerning the 1966 -67 Preliminary B „dg et Budget. Consulting Engineer Milt Hudis was present and gave a pre- sentation to the Council on his feelings as to why the City should have its own full time City Engineer. Upon conclu- sion of Mr. Hudis's presentation, the Council had ..a,...detailed discussion with the City-Manager and Mr. Hudis concerning this matter. Page -2- June 23, 1966 Upon motion by Councilman Roberts, seconded by Councilman Pezonella and unanimously approved the Engineering Budget included in the'Tublic-Works Department Budget as presented by the City Manager, was' approve d on a preliminary basis. City Manager Callinan•then: reviewed in detail for the Coun- cil the items contained in the General Government Section of V. 1966 =67 Preliminary Budget. V. Smith Arrival 'Councilma.i V. Smith arrived at this point in the meeting, the time being approximately 8:50 P.M. Upon'motion`by Councilman Pezonella, seconded by Councilman Roberts and unanimously approved the General Government section of'the= 1966 -67 Preliminary Budget was approved on "a preliminary basis. Revenues CI` t'`' Manager, 'Callinan then reviewed in detail for the Council the anticipated revenues included in the 1966 -67 Preliminary Budget. Upon conclusion of the review of the anticipated revenues the entire''budget was - reviewed'.in general once again. During''the discussion that followed the Council indicated that they would prefer no't'to raise taxes during the fiscal yoar 1966- '67'. '- Vhey j indicated their feelings on several different items contained in the Preliminary Budget and re- quested the City Manager to take the Council's comments into consideration and review the proposed budget and re- ' port' back to the Council 'on those items which he feels might be 'e 2minated� from the budget in order to maintain the, present tax level.
