April 11, 1968
The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in
special session commencing at 8000 p.m. in the City Coun --
oil Chambers, 435 Southwest Boulevard, Rohnert Park, with
Vice Mayor Roberts presiding.
Call to Order Vi, e -Mayor Roberts called the meeting to order and led the
pledge of allegiance.
Roll Call Presents (3) Councilmen Roberts, Rogers, Smith
Absents (1) Mayor Pezonella
Late: (1) Councilman Buchanan - his time of arrival is
noted specifically in the minutes.
Resolution 68-34 A RESOLUTION ACCKPTING GRANT DEED (:PROPERTY AT GOT-P COURSE)
City Manager Callinan •read the resolution
Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Rogers, and unanimously approved Resolution No. 08 -34 was
adopted;.
Golf Course A discussion waa held concerning the golf course acquisition
and improvement.
Expressway Grade City Manager Callinan reported that Vice - President and
Crossing General Manager of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad, C.E.
Neal, had advised him that the material for the Expressway
grade crossing had been received and that work on the grade
crossing was scheduled to commence on April 22 and the work
should be completed three weeks from that date.
Southwest Boulevard A discussion was held concerning the grade crossing that
Grade Crossing will be regisired for the extension of Southwest Boulevard.
City Manager Callinan reminded the Council that Sonom
Campus Company had deposited $500.00 with the City to cover
costs of making application for a grade crossing.
Proposition #2 City Manger Callinan reported that due to the narrow mar-
gin by which Proposition #2 was defeated at the April 9th
Municipal Election, City Attorney Maxwell and he felt that
a recount should be applied for on this one measure and
that City Attorney Maxwell would prepare the necessary
resolution requesting the recount for adoption at the April
15th City Council Meeting.
Appointive Positions A discussion was held concerning the manner and method
of making appointments to the City Clerk and City Treasurer
positions now that both of these positions have been made
appointive by the electors. City Manager Callinan suggest-
ed the consolidation of the City Clerk position with the

City Manager position since most of the City Clerk functions
are performed through the City Manager's office or in other
departments of the City operations. Council indicated
approval of this suggestion and also requested a job des-
cription of the functions being presently performed by the
present City Clerk.
Councilman Buchanan Councilman Buchanan arrived at this point in the meeting

City Treasurer A discussion was held concerning the procedure for making
Position appointment to the City Treasurer position. At the con-
clusion of the discussion it was generally agreed that the
position should be appointed by the City Manager subject to
the approval of the City Council. City Manager Callinan
indicated that he would discuss the City Treasurer's
position with the present City Treasurer, Mr. O'Neil, and
also with Mr. Robert Sheehan who ran for the position in
the recent municipal election.
Annexation No. 6 City Manager Callinan reviewed a letter that he had receiv-
ed from Fred W. Rohnert concerning the proposed Annexation
Agreement relative to the land south of East Cotati Avenue
included in Annexation No. 6. He indicated that it was his
intention to respond to the letter from DI-L. Rohnert in an
effort to work out any differences between Mr. Rohnert and
the City so that the annexation agreement can be executed
and the annexation consumated.
Adjournr^ent There being no further business the meeting was adjourned
