The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this
date In an adjourned session at 8:00 p.m. at the
City Offices, 435 Southwest Boulevard, Rohnert
Park, with Vice - -Mayor Roberts presiding.
Call to Order Vice -Mayor Roberts called the meeting to order
and led the pledge of allegiance.

Absent: (2) Councilman Buchanan & Mayor Pezonell
Staff Prcuant: City Manager Callinan, City Attor-
ney Maxwell, City Clerk Lillian E.
Sani.
Election Canvass City Manager Callinan reviewed the County Clerk's
Official �Ia,nvass of the votes cast at the general
municipal election held on April 9, 1968. He
further rei�orted that the recound on Proposition
No. 2 did not result in any change in the status
of the proposition.
Resolution No. A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING
68--37 RESULT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD
APRIL 9, 1968.
City 1v1a.r '1ger Callinan reviewed the resolution.
Upon mo +,on by Councilman Rogers, seconded by
Councilman Smith, and unanimously approved, the
reading of Resolution No. 68 -37 was waived and
said resolution was adopt( -d.
.Resolution No. RESOLUTION RECITING THE FAOT OF THE MUNICIPAL
68--38 ELECTION AND OTHER MATTERS AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS THEREOF.
City Attorney Maxwell read the resolution.
Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by
Councilman Rogers, and unanimously approved,
Resolution No. 68x-38 was adopted.
Oath of Office City Clerk Lillian Sani administered the Oath
of Office to Warren K. Hopkins and Vernon P. Smith
Election of Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by
Vice -Mayor Councilman Hopkins, and unanimously approved,
Councilman Rogers was elected Vice - Mayor.

Incoming Vice —Mayor Rogers assumed the chairing
of the meeting from outgoing Vice -Mayor Roberts.
Election of Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by
Mayor Councilman Hopkins, and unanimously approved,
Councilman Roberts was elected Mayor.
Mayor Roberts assumed the chairing of the meeting
and made a brief acceptance speach.
Matters from Councilman Smith welcomed new Councilman Hopkins
Councilmen to the City Council and expressed the feelings of
the other members of the Council in indicating
that they were looking forward to working with
Mr. Hopkins.
Councilman Rogers recognized former Charter City
Council Member Dale Faust and his wife,Pat, who
were sitting in the audience.
Councilman Hopkins expressed his appreciation to
the citizens for electing him to the Council and
pledged his efforts in carrying out the duties
and responsibilities of the position.
Adjournment There being no further business the meeting was
adjourned at approximately :30 p.m. to coffee
and cake.
