ROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
February 279 1967
The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in
an adjourned session at 7:30 P.M. in the City Offices, 435
Southwest Boulevard, Rohnert Park with Vice -Mayor Pezonella
presiding.
Vice -Mayor Pezonella called the meeting to order.
Present: (4) Councilmen Pezonella, Roberts, Robers and
V. Smith
Late: (1) Mayor C. Smith (time of arrival noted in the
minutes).
Absent: (0) None
Staff present: City Manager Callinan and John Quinn,
Sonoma County Planning Staff.
Staff absent: City Attorney Maxwell
T.G.S. Y. Sign Variance The staff reviewed the sign requested by T.G.S. Y. for the
File No. 0052 store to be opened in the shopping center. Mr. Maurice
Fredericks, owner of the premises, and Mr. R. 0. Ralston,
T.G.S. Y. Stores Company, were present and discussed the
matter with the Council.
Upon motion by Councilman V. Smith, seconded by Councilman
Rogers and unanimously approved, the Council made the
necessary affirmative. findings required by the zoning
ordinance and granted a variance to T.G.S. Y Stores to per-
mit the sign requested as shown on the sketch submitted.
Major Streets John Quinn initiated a brief discussion concerning City
Standards policies relative to residential development along major
City streets such as Southwest Boulevard and Country Club
Drive. He submitted a memo concerning the adopiAQ7r�. of �.

South Sant..a 'Z.osa A discussion was held concerning the South Santa Rosa
Annexation Annexation study. Councilman V. Smith renrr:ed on a

west of U.S.101 and which is also included in the City of
Rohnert Park's sewer study service area, than the City of
Santa Rosa would be will ng to exclude that area from their
propos i annexation. A general discussion was held between
Comacii members and staff present.

Upon motion by Councilman Rogers, seconded by Councilman
Roberts and unanimously approved, the City Council went on
record as having no objection to the'proposed South Santa
Rose Annexation study boundary except for that portion
included in the area south of Wilfred Avenue on the west
side of U.S.101 and which area is also included in the City
of Rohnert Park's sewer study service area,
Sales Tax Study Councilman Roberts reported on the meetings held by the
Sonoma County Mayors' and Councilmen's Association
Committee studying the sales tax split between the cities
and the County of Sonoma. A breef discussion followed.
Upon motion by Councilman Rogers, seconded by Councilman
V. Smith and unanimously approved, the Council went on
record as recommending to the Sonoma County Mayors' and
Councilmen's Association that the cities in Sonoma County
should receive 100% of the sales tax revenue generated
within the Cities.
Mayor Smith arrival Mayor C. Smith arrived at this point in the meeting, the
time being approximately 8 :20 P.M.
Library Study Councilman Roberts reported on the meetings held by the
Sonoma County Mayors' and Councilmen's Association committee
studying library service for the county and cities. A
brief discussion followed.
Upon motion by Councilman Rogers, seconded by Councilman

on record as endorsing the County program, which the City
of Rohnert Park presently is a member of, and which is
administered by the Santa Rosa- 6onoma County Free Publc
Library.

Jessie Farrell, and Engineer Bob Heid. Alse present from

it was generally agreed that additional meetings will be
held in the not too distant future to continue the discus-
sion.
Adjournment There being no further business the meeting was adjourned
at approximately 9:45 P.M.
