1963/02/07 City Council MinutesROHNERT PAPA CITY COUNCILv February ?, 1963 The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in an adjourned session at 8:00 p.m. at the City Officeg 6150 Commerce Blvd ®, Rohnert Park, with Mayor Callinan. presiding. Roll Call Present: (5) Mayor Callinan, Councilmen Bell, Buchanan, Foust, Smith. Absent: (0) Civil Defense W Phi Kos Sonoma County Civil Defense Coordinator, and Mr. Charles Keene, Sonoma County Civil Defense Advisory Board, discussed with the City Council the various types of Civil Defense assiotance through matching funds or surplus materials. In order to qualify for participation in these programs, the City must do the following: 1. Adopt a Civil Defense Ordin- ance; 2. Fill out QroSram Papers" for approval; 3. Adopt resolutions authorizing representatives; 4. The local Civil Defense Director must attend a 5 day school in Alameda; 5. Study manuals and, fill out numerous forms® The council will study the material presented before taking actiono Resolution §55- Resolution No. 55 - A RESOLUTION RIT.,OMIMENDING N,2'AhE FOR JUNT OR- SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, was read and moved by Councilman Foust, seconded by Council- man Buchanan, and unanimously approved. Personnel Upon motion by Councilman Buchanan, seconded by Councilman Foust, and unanimously approved, the following holidays will be given to City employ- ees; New years day, January 1; Washingtons Birthday, February 22; Good Friday from 12-3 p.m.; Memorial Day, May 30; Independence Day, July 4; Labor Dayp Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Animal Control Doon motion by Councilman Buchanan, seconded by Councilman Smith, Mayor Callinan was authorized to execute the Agreement with the Humane Society by the following vote: AYES: (3) Buchanan, Smith, Caliinan® NOES: (2) Bell, Foust. ABSENT: (0) Safety Building Councilman Smith and Fr. Maxwell, City Attorney, were directed to continue to look into various methods of financing the Safety Building. Alicia Park Upon motion by Councilman Buchanan, seconded by Councilman Bell, and unanimously approved, plans for toilet facilities for Alicia Park were approved. Djon motion by Councilman Foust, seconded by Councilman Smith, and unani- mously approved, bids will be called for the toilet facilities for Alicia Park. Upon motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman Buchanan, and unanimously approved, motion to call for bids for toilet facilities for Alicia Park was rescinded and the Recreation Commission was authorized to get firm estimates for City Council approval before any commitments are made, Resolution QQ6 Resolution No. 56 - A RESOLUTION APPOINTING PEPRESEFTATIVE TO THE SONOMA COUNTY CIVIL DETTNSE AEUISOPY BOARD, was read and moved by Councilman Buchanan, seconded by Councilman Bell, and unanimously approvede Council- man Foust was appointed the Representative, and C® A.
