1963/07/24 City Council MinutesROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL, July 24, 1963 The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in special session at 7:30 p.m. at the City Office, 6950 Commerce Blvd., Rohnert Park, with Mayor Smith presiding. Roll Call Present (4) Mayor Smith, Councilmen Bell, Buchanan, Foust Absent (1) Councilman Rogers Also in attendance, Peter Callinan, City Manager; Bill O'Neil City Treasurer. Secretary Upon motion by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Buchanan and unanimously approved, Mr. Callinan, City Manager was appointed Secretary for this meeting. Planning Comm. A general discussion of the Planning Commission Ordinance as adopted by the City Council was held. It was suggested that each Councilman should draw up a list of proposed candidates for appointment to the Commission for future discussion between the councilmen. The council indicated that they hope to appoint the planning commission members at the second meeting in August which will be held on August 19th. C.A.C. A general discussion was held concerning the Citizens Advisory Commission, but no action was taken. The discussion was general in nature and included many thoughts on whether or not the Citizens Advisory Commission should be retained. It was pointed out that no members have been appointed to the Commis- sion for the fiscal year July 1, 1963 through June 30, 1964. Safety Building A discussion was held concerning the advisability and /or Lease Purchase feasibility of a lease purchase on the Safety Building. Mr. Callinan, City Manager, was instructed to follow up with . Schwabacher and Co. to have a representative from them come down at his earliest convenience to discuss this matter further. Bond Recreation General discussion was held concerning the recreation capital Program improvement program and whether or not to go to the people for a vote on a bond election for monies to install capital improvements. Councilman Bell, the ex- officio member of the Recreation Commission was requested to have the Commission come up with their suggestions on a detailed program for capital improvements for recreation facilities. Such things as how many improvements are desired and how much money will be required are some points that the Council would like covered by the Recreation Commission.
