1963/12/06 City Council MinutesROHNFRT PARK CITY COUNCIL December 6, 1963 The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in adjourned session at 7:30 p.m. at the City Office, 435 Southwest Blvd., Rohnert Park, with Mayor Smith presiding. Roll Call Present: (5) Mayor Smith, Councilman Bell, Buchanant Foust and Rogers. Absent: (0) Staff Present: Peter M. Callinan, City Manager C1 Ai Wiggins, Supt. of Public Works. Upon m6tion.by Councilman Buchanan, seconded by Councilman Foust and unanimously approved, Mr. Callinan was appointed temporary secretary for this meeting in the absence of Lillian Sani, City Clerk. Use Permit Mr. McGee and Mr. Robinson were present and participated in a general discussion with the Council concerning their application. Upon motion by Councilman Rogers, seconded by Council- man Foust and unanimously approved the use permit for operation at 5180 Commerce Blvd. was granted with the following conditions: 1. The operator shall not dismantle autos except where parts are to be immediately sold, used, or. properly stored for future sales or use in auto repair. 2. The entire operation shall be conducted with- in a building with the exception of the storage of parts. 3. The entire operation shall be limited to auto repair and sales. 4. No wrecked autos or used parts shall be stor- ed on the premises other than those being actually repaired or as allowed by normal storage as an accessory to auto repair and sales. 5. The entire operation shall be restricted to the sales and repair of foreign automobiles. 6. No wrecked or unrepaired autos shall be allowed to be displayed outside the fenced area of the premises. 7. No wrecked or unrepaired autos within the building or fenced area shall be visible from any roadway, highway, or any public thoroughfare. Page 2 December 6, 1963 8•. Fences on the premises shall not exceed 6 feet in height. 9•. No autos shall be displayed outside the build- ing until an acceptable display p p Coun been submitted to and approved by the City cil. 10. A planting strip not less than 3 feet in width shall be maintained along the entire lengt':. of the property frontage with the exception of driveways. 11.0ne sign not exceeding one square foot per each foot of frontage shall be permitted. 12+ This use permit is non- transferrable`. 13. This use permit is immediately revocable upon any violation of any restrictions under which the permit is issued. Proposed General A general discussion was held with Mr. Golis concerning the proposed general plan for the Plan development of the City of Rohnert Park that he had presented to the City Council and City planting Commission. The City Planning Commis- sion was represented in this general discussion by Mr. James Cronin who was also in attendance at the meeting. No formal action was taken on Mr. Golis's pro- posal but the Council indicated that they would like the comments of the Sonoma County Planning Staff; the City of Rohnert Park Planning Commis- sion, and Sonoma State College. Mr. Golis in- dicated that he was going to discuss this pro- posal with the Sonoma State College Campus Committee on Monday, December 9, 1963 at 1 :30 p.m. and he requested that the City Manager, Mr. Callinan., attend this meeting. Mr. Callinan indicated he would. The matter was taken under advisement by the City Council with an indica- tion that as soon as all the reports and comments that they have requested are presented to them, they will consider the matter further and as soon as possible.
