17 February 1964
The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this
date in regular session at 8:00 pomo at the City
Office, 435 Southwest Blvd., Rohnert Park! with
Mayor Smith presiding. This regular session was
preceded by a personnel session (closed) and a
work session which commenced at 7030 pomo but at
which no official action was taken.
Roll Call Present (5) Mayor Smith, Councilman Bell, Buchanan,
Foust, Rogers.
Absent: (0)
Minutes Upon motion by Councilman Buchanan, seconded by
Councilman Foust and unanimously approved, the
minutes of February 3, 1964 were approved as sub-
mitted.
Upon motion by Councilman Rogers, seconded by
Councilman Bell and unanimously approved, the min-
utes of February 10, 1964 were approved as sub-
mitted.
Bills Upon motion by Councilman Foust, seconded by
Councilman Rogers and unanimously approved, the
bills per attached copy dated February 17, 1964
were approved for payment.
Personnel Mayor Smith stated that no action had been taken
at the personnel session held prior to the regular
meeting.
Fire Dept. Upon motion by Councilman Bell, seconded by Council-
man Foust and unanimously approved, Ron Niquette
upon recommendation of the Fire Dept. was accepted
as an active member of the R ohnert Park Volunteer
Fire Dept.
Pay TV Mayor Smith suggested that the communications re-
ceived from the proponents and the opponents of
"Pay TV" be made available to the public for their
information. The Council decided not to take any
stand in this issue at this time.
City Manager Upon motion by Councilman Buchanan, seconded by
Pro Tempore Councilman Foust, Mr. Callinants appointment of
Mr. Wiggins, Superintendent of Public Works, as
City Manager Pro Tempore during the absence of
City Manager Callinan, while Mr. Callinan attends
the League of California Cities City Managers
Spring Meeting was unanimously approved.

A B A G Since Councilman Rogers advised that he will be
unable to attend.the next A B A G meeting, Mayon
Smith, who is the alternate delegate, advised 1,t

Mr. Callinan, City Manager, advised the Council
that the insurance binder has been received from
..Pacific Indemnity Co., and is valid for 60 days.
Also received was a letter from Pacific Indemnity
regarding the broadform liability insurance cover
age available to the City at'additional premiums

this matter will be reviewed by the Council and
City Attorney and further discussion held concern
ing the matter at the meeting scheduled for March

Upon motion by Councilman Rogers,
seconded by
Councilman Buchanan, and unanimously approved,
reading of Resolution No., 146 was waived.

AND DIRECTING ENGINEER TO FILE NOTICE OF COMPLE-
TION, Project 1961-5, upon motion by Councilman
Rogers, seconded by Councilman Buchanan, was unanz
mOusly adopted.

Resolution x#147 Resolution No. 147 - A RESOLUTION DECLARING CER-
TAIN TERRITORY WITHDRAWN FROM THE COTATI FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT (Rohnert Park Annexation No.
1 and No. 2), was read by Mr. Maxwell, City Attor-
ney Upon motion by Councilman Buchanan, seconded
by Councilman Rogers, Resolution No. 147 was un-
animously adopted
April Election Mr. Maxwell, City Attorney, notified the Council
that all legal requirements have been met for the
April 14 municipal elections. The rest will be
handled by the Sonoma County Election Department.
Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting was
then adjourned at 8030 P.M.

John Hardin Suit Mr. Maxwell, City Attorney, advised that after
reviewing the file prepared by the City staff
relative to the John Hardin garbage contract, that
he sees no alternative but to file an answer
denying Mr. Hardin's claims, and to allow the
matter to be set for a pre -trial hearing.
