1. Did the games cause any appreciable increase in traffic on your street?
.No! But all perimet.er.streets to'Junior High were, as you know, very heavily
congested before and after the games. (Barbi Lane)
.Did not appreciate. (Almond Street)
..Sometimes I have trouble entering my driveway because of parked cars.
.Cars racing up and down streets.
.Everyones driveway was blocked and beer cans strewn all over. Nice place
for garbage. Afire hazard. (Burton, Avenue)
.Considerable. (Alta Avenue)
.Foot traffic. (Bernice Avenue)
.Traffic was heavy on Alta and people would make U- -turns in.front of Souse,
so they could find a place to park. (Alta Avenue)
.Many people walk as field is close by residential sections,...(:Burton Avenue,)
..I noticed,no;;difference in traffic,on Bobbie Way.
.The speeding "along Burton has always been a problem.
.A little. (Alta Avenue)
.A little. (Bobbie Way)
.More traffic but no problems. (Burton Avenue)
.Appreciable but not problematical.
.Not enough to bother. (Alta Avenue)
.There has been an increase of the t9Almond- Anson -Alta Loopers" on'the nights
of home games. As°you are well aware, we have had some pretty.good "TAS" on
the Alta side of the "loop ". ',My 'concerns are; Youngsters on the street,,longer
days, school out etc. Intersection, Almond /Southwest, persons in vehicles
tend to stop and chat with friends on.foot, backs up traffic.. No problems
other than those above, however, intersections of Alta - Almond - Southwest are
problems that should be looked into. (Alta Avenue)
.Some parking problems along Alta and Almond. (Alta Avenue)
.A little more traffic but not noticable usually. (Burton Avenue)
Just before and after games. (Burton Avenue)
.I live on Santa Barbara Drive, they park over here then the people who
live here have to park other places..
.Faster traffic and more racing around. (Almond Street)
.Something should be done about the speeders on Burton Avenue anyway. It is
like a race track.
1. Cont. °d.
.Only a few cars were parked near._the corner of Alta and Almond. None were
blocking driveways, and none I'c,an recall were 'noisy. (Alta Avenue)

level much too high. The p.a. system most disturbing, severe interference
with radio reception! (Barbi Lane)

.Yes. Prevented satisfactory sleeping arrangements on weekends, especially
around noon time.
.Too loud too late at night.

are a problem? Change in placement'-6f loud speakers would solve that problem,
however. (Barbi Lane)
.P.A. is a little loud.
.It was very noisy but not totall:y'upsetting. (Burton Avenue)
.I go to bed at 9 :30- -10 :00 p.m. (Bernice Avenue)
.Fans support (Cheering etc.) was heard but'did not interfer with my sleep
or activities. (Baron Drive)
5. Was the time of the:games, satisfactory?
.There should beano night games! (Barbi Lane)
.Six o'clock weekdays and earlier weekends. (Alta Avenue)
.No problem to us.. We didn't attend any games. (Bobbie Way)
.Later in day on weekends would be fine like after 1:00 p.m.
.Too late at night.
,Too noisy too late. (Bernice Avenue)
.Had to take long way around just to get home.
.Sunday would be fine. (Burton Avenue)
.At this location no time could be satisfactory: (Alta Avenue)
.Too late at night. (Bernice Avenue)
.Thanks for being here! (Bernice Avenue)
.7:30 may be ok too; (Bonnie)
.Would iike.weekday games over with by 9.00 p.m.
.I donp.t know if the games bother the people over there. (Santa Barbara Dr.)
For us it was perfect as we had time to cleanup; eat, and still make the
first inning. (Alta Avenue)
6, If the team was to use the junior high field again, what conditions would
you tike to see imposed?
.As far as we are concerned the school officials should be the central ones
to consult. It does appear that there might be some problem with interfering
with fullest school usage. (Bobbie Way)
We did not object to -them for l year, now lets have them moved and get the.
area cleaned up. (Burton Avenue)
.Would like to see them moved to Toledo (Ohio) or at best to the outside of
the town. (Almond Street)
.I would rather they didn't. Perhaps more off street parking would help the
situation.
.Have all games over by 8 p.m.
.Keep the game times earlier. (Bernice Avenue)
.Build a new park somewhere else.
.Do not want to see this field used again for Pioneers, want bleachers removed.
Also we never did get our tickets as promised. (Alta Avenue)
.Move it out of town into a large enough size to cover all cars and crowds
(Burton Avenue)
.Less noise. Ball tossed into backyard. (Alta Avenue)
.Under no stretch of your 'imagination, would my wife and I consent to endour
one more season of baseball being played in this park. Reason: at least
'2 or more balls striking my house each time a game was played. Children
jumping my fence into yard each time a ball comes into it. Extreme amount of
noise coming from the stands. Loud p.a. system. Heavy traffic and lack of
prkg. My view has been completely ruined, before you build this steel edifice,
I could look out my rear window and see the hills. Now all I see is this pile
of steel.- (Alta Avenue)
Ballfield. for residents.set,up or cyclone fence along back fence line to prevent 1.
balls from going in backyard. (Bonnie Avenue)
.More parking near field and not use the streets of residential houses. You
need more parking area closer to ballfield. (Alta Avenue)
.Maybe a little higher fence to protect the traffic on Southwest'Blvd. Somebody
could get hurt. (Santa Barbara Drive)
.It was fine. No problems. (Alta Avenue)
The youngsters who chase foul balls into the middle of Southwest Blvd. presents
a dangerous problem.
Kept clean.
.See more city officials attend the games and show more interest in the games.
The players love a.good attendance° (Barbi Lane.)
.I just hope they are NOT going to take up permanent residence at the Jr. High.
If there is not a professional organization behind the team next year, major
parent or not, I will not be able to support the Pioneers next season. The
coaching staff along with management has left alot to be desired and I feel
the community as a whole and fans in particular deserve better..(Bonnie)
.Its an ideal location, I hate to see them move. They have been thoughtful
and considerate of the town. We couldn't ask for more..
.I would like for games to continue at the Jr. High., It is more convenient
location'than'tabath as some people do not have cars. .:(Burton Avenue)
6. Cont `d.
.It is okay the way it is. (Burton Avenue)
.There should be no parking on Southwest, Blvd; Need better parking facilities
for the fans, (Burton)
.We enjoyed some of the games., it was nice it was so close to,us. (Adrian Dr,)
Parking. (Bonnie 6 Bernice)
.I believe all necessary conditions are being met. (Burton Avenue)
.Should not be allowed.
No beer, wine, etc. allowed inside. More police around. And get rich of the dumb
chicken. He got a'la.ttle vulgar with some people who had a little to much to
drink one night which was our last night to go to dne of the game. (Baron Dr.)
.It was ok. No problems. (Burton Avenue)
.A free pass for the last person to sign the petition for incorporation back
in 1962 (me). (Santa Barbara)
.To always have policement directing the traffic after the games. (Burton Avenue)
.I though everything was great. '(Burton Avenue)
.Better parking for the baseball fans.
.Parking may become a problem now that Southwest Blvd. has been widened and
is no longer a parking lot. (Alta Avenue)'
<I would like to see the dugouts lowered and better vision from the stands.
(Burton Avenue)
.That they replace the grass ruined by season ticket parking.
.Better parking facilities,(Alta Avenue)
.Parking on R.P. Expressway `area near the firehouse could be developed. (Burton)
More police patrol of the area to help make the inconsiderate fans more con -
siderate of the people in the neighborhood around the ball park. (Almond Street)
.Traffic control, police the area after the games.
.I can't think of any off hand, (Alta Avenue)
.Just some kind of litter pack up after the games.
.More traffic control,- - thus :more litter, control.
.Perhaps a officer at;the crosswalk when the game breaks up or maybe a patrol
vehicle muising, visible to the traffic on Southwest Blvd. people forgot
to give right of way at the crosswalk., and not just the kids either. (Alta Ave.)
.Improvement in cleaning litter from the area. (A little education on social
standards and obligations of citizens by the school district might help improve
the appearance of all of our neighborhoods as far as litter is concerned. (Barbi)
,Stiff litter laws enforced through ticketing, foot patrol by officers behind
stadium, control of alcohol abuse, marijuana abuse by individuals. (S. Barbara)
,Whatever conditions the people living closet to the field would impose, (Barbi)
.More parking space.
.Even though.it was a little disturbing we have two teenager boys who thoroughly
enjoy the games. (Burton Avenue.)
Traffic control on`street. before and after games. ,(Bobbie Way)
.Earlier_.games so at 9:30 - 10.00 the noise would be over (Bert ce Avenue)
