1977/07/05 City Council MinutesCall to Order ROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL MINUTES July 5, 1977 The Council of the.City of Rohnert Park met this date in special session commencing at approximately 12:00 Noon in the City Offices, 6750 Commerce Blvd., Rohnert Park, with Mayor Beary presiding. Mayor Beary called the meeting of the special session to order at approximately 12:00 noon. Present: (4) Councilmen Eck, Roberts, Hopkins and Beary Absent: (1) Councilman Flores Also present: Congressman Don Clausen and his field representative Gordon Tippit, City Manager Callinan, and various members of the city staff and press correspondents from the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, Independent Journal, KSRO radio and Rohnert Park Cotati Clarion. Mayor Beary explained that the meeting was called in order to allow the Council to have a discussion with Congressman Don Clausen. Discussion then took place between the Congressman and those present and touched upon such subjects as Public Works Act, the Economic Development Administration Programs, tariffs, balance of payments, solar energy, oil supply, proposed gas tax, van pooling, assessing transit needs, water resources and comprehensive water planning drought assistance, civil tenure of congressmen, Food and Drug Administration and his recent action on banning sacryn, the Federal Aid Urban Program, Postal Service bike paths and trails. The discussion with Congressman Clausen terminated about 1:40 p.m. Community and City Manager Callinan informed the Council that the architect Recreation Center was moving ahead preparing working drawings for the Community and Recreation Center funded by a Public Works grant. He suggested that if any of the Council members wanted to review the building floor plan layout or had any questions concern- ing the project that they should be raised because once the working drawings are complete it would be too late. Council members indicated a willingness to meet individually with City staff to have the building plans reviewed. Crocker Homes Golf City Manager Callinan reported that Crocker Homes has requestE Course and he had given tentative approval for them to use the City owned acre if land north of the existing golf course parking lot so teat Crocker could use it as a temporary location for their sales office and construction office for their proposed Mountain Shadows Subdivision. He indicated that he gave the approval with the understanding that the area would be graded and that golfing patrons would not be prohibited from using the area for parking, especially on weekends. The Council indicated no objection.
