ROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
October 25, 192 ;
The Council of the City of,Rohnert Park met this date in
regular session commencing at 7:00 p.m. in the City
Offices, 6750 Commerce Boulevard'; ;Rohnert Park, with Mayor
Hopkins presiding...
Mayor Hopkins called the regular session to order at
approximately 7 :02 p.m. and led the pledge of allegiance.
Present: (5) Councilmen Cavalli, Hollingsworth, Roberts,''
and Hopkins
Late: (1) Councilwoman Stewart (whose time of arrival
is specifically notes in these minutes)
Absent (0) None
Staff present for all or part of the meeting: City Manager
Pro - tempore Albright, City Engineer /Director of Public
Works Brust, and Finance Director Netter.
Approval of Minutes Upon motion of. Councilman Roberts, seconded,by Councilman
Hollingsworth,. and. unanimoulsy,approved, the minutes of
October 12,'1982 were approved as submitted.
Approval of Bills Upon,motion of Councilman Roberts, seconded by Councilman
Hollingsworth, and unanimously approved, the bills
presented per the attached list in the amount of $394,222.70
were.,approved.,
Councilmen Stewart Arrives Councilmen Stewart arrived at this point in the meeting the
being approximately 7 :03 p.m.
City Attorney,Flitner's City Manager Pro - tempore Albright informed-of a telephone
Absence call just received from'Mrs. Flitner indicating that City
Attorney Flitner had been involved in a car accident on the
way' to the meeting. Mr. Albright pointed out that Mr.
Flitner was not - harmed but would be unable to attend the
meeting.

Refreshment Counter

Community Center
Ca•linanls meeting memo dated October 22, 1982 regarding
bids received for -a refreshment counter to be placed in the
Community Center funds for whioh�vto be provided for in the
Federal Revenue Sharing Funds.
Councilman, Stewart ques,ti,otied whether the counter was
absolutely necessary and asked that the matter be deferred
until: the.. :next r6gul,ary.schqduled meeting with the City
Manage.r-in,attendance. The'iCouncil concurred.
Joint Meeting-School
Board City Manager Pro-tempore Albright referred Council to the
and City Council
Council meeting memo dated October 22, 1982 concerning
setting 'a date for a, joint meeting between th& School :Board
and the Council. ;'Mr. Albright noted that the School Board
recommended November 9,1 15, or 23, 1982 preferring the
23rd.

So.Co. Transportation City Manager Pro - tempore Albright referred Council to
Planning Council,. Council meeting: .memo dat.ed.October 22, 1982 concerning
appointing a representative to service on the Sonoma County
Transportation Planning Council, appointing a
representative and an alternate to the Technical Advisory
Committee,,and selection of .a monthly meeting 'date.
Upon motion of Councilman Hollingsworth, seconded by
Councilman Roberts, and unanimously approved, Mayor Hopkins
..,was appointed as representative to serve on the Sonoma
County,Transporation Planning Council, City Engineer Brust
appointed as representative to the Technical Advisory
.Committee with City Manager Callinan as an alternate, and
recommending that the monthly meeting date for same be set
early in the week after 3:00 p.m.
Communications Communications per the attached outline were brought to the
attention of the City Council. No action was taken on any
communication unless,specificall,y noted_.in,these minutes.
GGBHTD & MTC Appointments Mayor Hopkins noted that applications of interest were
being solicited from the cities for appointments to the
Golden Gate Bridge Highway Transportation District and
Metropolitan Transportation Commission through the Mayors'
and Councilmen's Association. Discussion followed.
City Manager's Report City Manager Pro - tempore Albright referred the Council to
City Manager Callinan's Council meeting memo dated October
22, 1982 for explanation of all the matters on the City
Manager's Report section of the meetings agenda.
County Solid Waste Finance Director Netter reported on a meeting held by the
Management Plan Sonoma County Board of Supervisors on October 19, 1982 in
an effort to come to a decision on the proposed increase in
refuse disposal dump fees. Mr. Netter indicated that there
was no action taken at this meeting and a subsequent
meeting was scheduled for November 23, 1982 to reach a
conclusion on the matter. Mr. Netter recapped the proposed
rate increases and summarized information in the disposal
company's budget. Discussion followed.
City Manager Pro - tempore Albright reported that Sonoma
County Director of Public Works Don Head was scheduled to
speak before the Mayors' and Councilmen's Association on
November 18, 1982 concerning refuse disposal and fees.
Transit - Route 70 City Engineer Brust reported on a meeting held on October
21, 1982 between the staffs of the County of Sonoma and
cities involved in funding the Golden Gate Route 70 local
serivice. Mr. Brust indicated that the meeting was held to
discuss Golden Gate Transits using back -up buses on Route
70 of which additional TDA funds will be required to cover
the cost. Mr. Brust informed that the County of Sonoma was
proposing to establish a local County service in lieu of
the Golden Gate back -up buses on Route 70. Mr. Brust
recommended the Council approve in concept the proposal to
establish a local route in lieu of back -up buses on Route
70. Council concurred.
