The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in
adjourned regular session in the City Offices, 6750
Commerce Blvd., Rohnert Park, CA, with Mayor Eck
presiding.
Call to Order Mayor Eck called the adjourned regular session to order
at approximately 6:05 p.m. and led the pledge of
allegiance.
Roll Call Present: (4) Councilmembers Hollingsworth, Hopkins,
Spiro and Mayor Eck
Absent: (1) Councilmember Reilly (on business trip)
Staff present for all or part of the meeting: City
Manager Netter, City Attorney Flitner, Assistant to the
City Manager Leivo, Finance Director Harrow, Planning
Director Skanchy, Recreation Director Pekkain, and
Director of Public Safety Dennett.
Introductions: Mayor Eck introduced various people in the audience
including former mayors and former councilmembers and
their spouses, which included Armando Flores, Jimmie
Rogers, Charlie Cochran, and others.
Reflections: Mayor Eck reflected on the accomplishments of the City
and community during his term as Mayor. He thanked
other members of the City Council, City Manager Netter,
the City Manager's secretary, and other staff for making
his job easier during the year.
Selection of Council Upon motion of Councilmember Hopkins, seconded by
Officers: Mayor Pro Councilmember Spiro, and unanimously approved,
Tempore Councilmember Arthur Hollingsworth was appointed as
Mayor Pro- Tempore.
Mayor Upon motion by newly appointed Vice Mayor Hollingsworth,
seconded by Councilmember Hopkins, and unanimously
approved, Councilmember Spiro was appointed as Mayor.
Mayor Spiro expressed appreciation to outgoing Mayor Eck
and presented him with a brass bicycle horn. After a
moment of laughter, outgoing Mayor Eck was presented
with a more formal gift of a marble desk set as an
expression of appreciation from the City for his
services as Mayor.
Mayor Spiro thanked the City Council for her appointment
and introduced her family, who was in the audience.

Mayor Spiro had approximately 12 to 15 members of her
family present.
Mayor Spiro went on to review upcoming challenges that
the City will need to deal with during the coming year.
Adjournment: There being no further business, the meeting adjourned
at approximately 6:25 p.m. to refreshments.
