The Council of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in an
adjourned session in the Oak Room of the Red Lion Hotel, One Red
Lion Drive,Rohnert Park, CA. The meeting was a dinner meeting
with the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Present: (2) Councilmember Cochran and Mayor Hollingsworth
Absent: (3) Councilmembers Eck, Hopkins, and Spiro
Due to lack of a quorum of the City Council, Councilman Cochran
and Mayor Hollingsworth met as a committee of the Council.
Parks and Recreation commission members present- Chairman Dave
O'Brien, Vice Chairman Roger Kreischer, Commissioner Plaisted and

Staff present: Director. of Administrative Services/Assistant to
City Manager Netter, Director of pu.l:)I.ic Works/City Engineer
Brust, and Director of Recreation Pekkain.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at approximately
6:30 p.m. by Mayor Hollingsworth.
A wide ranging discussion was held concerning City
Council/Commission relations, General Plan, golf courses and open
space, swim center update, the future proposed tennis complex,
and other topics as listed on the meeting's agenda.
Commissioner Jay Potter handed out materials regarding the
operations of a proposed new tennis complex in the "M" section.
Commissioner Potter indicated he had completed much research, and
the complex plan is similar to that in Sunnyvale and Fremont. A
brief discussion continued on the possibility of relocating the
tennis complex to the northern sect-ion of the golf course north.

Director of Public Works Brust gave a report on "G" Park, 11M11
Park, and "R" Park.
Other items discusssed were: possible joint Founders Days with
City of Cotati (Commissioner O'Brien), Safe key and after school
day care (Councilman Cochran). It was agreed that this item
would be a topic for the next joint meeting with the School
District.
