CONCURRENT MEETINGS WORK SESSION MINUTES
for
BUDGET 2002 -2003 MATTERS
June 11, 2002
Tuesday
The concurrent meetings of the City of Rohnert Park
for the City Council, Community Development Commission,
Rohnert Park Financing Authority, and the Rohnert
Park District met this date for a work session open to
the public to discuss Budget 2002 -2003 Matters. The work
session commenced at approximately 5:00 p.m. in the
Conference Room, 6750 Commerce Boulevard, Rohnert Park,
with Mayor Flores presiding.
CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Flores called the work session to order at
5:02 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Present: (4) Councilmembers Mackenzie and
Vidak- Martinez; Vice Mayor Reilly;
Mayor Flores.
Absent: ( 0 ) None.
Staff present for all or part of the session: City
Manager Netter, Finance Director Lipitz, Public Works
Manager Stephens, Building Official Braun, Fire Commander
Cassel, City Engineer Gaffney, and Recreation Director
Barry.
ACKNOWLEDGING THE CITY MANAGER /CLERK'S REPORT ON POSTING
THE MEETING AGENDA:
Council acknowledged the City Manager /Clerk's Report on the
posting of the meeting's agenda.

UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES:
Mayor Flores stated that in compliance with State law,
the Brown Act, members of the public wishing to make a
comment may do so at this time, limited to 3 -5 minutes
per appearance with a 30- minute limit. No members of
the public came forward to speak.
2002 -03 BUDGET WORK SESSION
1. PROPOSED 2002 -03 BUDGET - REVIEW:
City Manager Netter and Finance Director Lipitz
DISTRIBUTED AND REVIEWED the City Manager's memo for the
City's 2002 -03 Fiscal Year Budget.
Public Comments: Members of the public were invited
by Mayor Flores to come forward and speak. No members
�� 1110 pudic came forward.
Council Discussion /Direction: At the suggestion of
Councilmember Mackenzie, Council CONCURRED TO DIRECT
the Golf Course Subcommittee to meet and (1)
report back on the status of the newly renovated
South Course and (2) set up a field trip of the North
Course, currently under reconstruction. Furthermore,
Mayor Flores DIRECTED STAFF to send a letter of
response to Mr. Stutrud regarding the status of the
redwood trees that were cut during the renovations.
2. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM - REVIEW:
Recreatinn Director Barry DISTRIBUTED AND REVIEWED the
Capital Improvement Program 2002 -07 Fact Sheet dated
June 11, _1002. Furthermore, Director _Ra_rrNr ram curor7
the Five -Year Capital Improvement Program - Budget.

Public Comments: Members of the public were invited
by Mayor Flores to come forward and speak. No members
of the public came forward.
Council Discussion/Direction: Council discussion
concluded, *and at the suggestion of Councilmember
Vidak- Martinez, Council CONCURRED TO DIRECT STAFF to
report back on the condition of the City's playground
equipment and to specifically note any possible
dangers. Recreation Director Barry also REQUESTED
COUNCIL INPUT on the possible construction and
operation of a 50 -meter pool.
