A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK u
Honoring
LARRY HENIG, D.D.S.
ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, November 1, 2004 Doctor Larry Henig retired from his exceptional dental practice in Rohnert Park; and
U�WHEREAS, Larry Henig quickly became a household name in Rohnert Park not only for his professional expertise but for his ability to "get things done"
in the community; and
WHEREAS, Larry began community service as one of the original members of the Education Foundation — where he is affectionately known as the
foundation of the Foundation — and was instrumental in its evolution from an upscale garage sale to a DoubleTree Fundraising event which raises
thousands of dollars for our schools; and
WHEREAS, he connected with the Cotati Accordion Festival and through this channel added approximately $5000 /year to our schools' musical
performing arts. He received the distinguished JX Wilson Award in honor of his community partnerships with schools; and
WHEREAS, as many sports groups will attest, Larry could be counted on year after year to sponsor Rohnert Park sports programs; and
WHEREAS, currently, Larry is intricately involved with the Children's Village program which will create a complex; to permanently house foster children i
so that siblings may remain together in a stable environment with live -in caretakers; and
WHEREAS, as an astute business man, Larry is well known for his Halloween Candy Buy Back. He bought back hundreds of pounds of Halloween 1
candy, then promptly sold the candy to our Public Safety Department -where he served the dental needs of many of our employees; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park extends its best wishes to Doctor Henig on the occasion of his
retirement and wishes him every success with his lovely, soon -to -be bride Julie Walker. It is our hope that they will have many years together to travel
and to enjoy the fruition of their many projects.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Larry's name be added to the Honorary Citizens of Rohnert Park plaque as he truly is a pillar in this community.
