A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
Honoring
MIKE and CAROL GRUBLER
for their combined 32 years of Service to the
Sister Cities Relations Committee
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park wishes to express its gratitude to
Carol and Mike Grubler who generously donated their time and energy in carrying out the
goals of the Sister Cities Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Sister Cities Committee was developed by the Eisenhower Administration
under the name of People to People to encourage a war -torn people to trust again. Rohnert
Park became involved in the Sister Cities movement through the work of Homestay America
Exchange, Inc., uniting Japanese and American families through exchange students; and
WHEREAS, Carol became a member of Sister Cities November 22, 1988. At that time she
was actively involved in the Chamber of Commerce, Canine Companions, and the Lioness
Club. In 1990, Mike became a member; at that time he was past president of the Chamber
of Commerce and a member of the Lion's Club; and
WHEREAS, year after year both Mike and Carol have received a letter from the City stating
that the City Council voted to re- appoint them to the Sister Cities Committee. It is with
sadness that this year we say goodbye to their invaluable community service.
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park
that it hereby acknowledges and honors Mike and Carol Grubler for their dedication to
exchanges of culture, communication, and understanding with the City of Hashimoto Japan.
We collectively and individually send our best wishes and say "thank you ".
