2005/03/22 City Council Resolution (7)WHEREAS, recent research shows that both boys and girls suffer self - esteem issues when
they enter into adolescence; and
WHEREAS, lack of self - esteem is evidenced in disturbing new statistics for both boys and
girls regarding body image — steroids for boys — known to researchers as "reverse anorexia
nervosa" and eating disorders for girls; adolescent depression is also prevalent in both boys
and girls; and
WHEREAS, exposure to an authentic workplace environment, coupled with opportunities to
perform work - related tasks and develop skills, may stimulate positive goals as well as
promote self -worth as the youth begin to master work assignments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park
that it calls upon and encourages residents of Rohnert Park to
TAKE YOUR DAUGHTERS AND SONS TO WORK
