A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH APS ENERGY SERVICES INC. TO PROVIDE
AN ENERGY STUDY FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING ENERGY
CONSERVATION AND FACILITY IMPROVEMENT MEASURES
WHEREAS, the City desires to reduce its consumption of energy and reliance on non-
renewable energy sources; and
WHEREAS, APS Energy Services Inc. has the background and ability to develop and
energy study and implement energy conservation measures; and
WHEREAS, the energy study conducted by APS will seek to accomplish the following
objectives:
Reduce the energy - related and operational expenses for the City. The energy
conservation measures in the Energy Study may include but are not limited to lighting if
possible, sensor and lighting control installations, well pumping upgrades, HVAC
replacement, swimming pool heating and boiler upgrades and investigation of water
saving opportunities.
• Self funding project that will require no initial capital investment on the part of the City
for the implementation of the energy conservation and facility improvement measures
identified in the Energy Study
• All project development and implementation costs, including interest thereon, will be
funded through energy and operational savings realized during the first fifteen (15) years
following the date upon which the energy conservation measures are placed into
operation.
• Solar and distributed generation opportunities that self fund over the life of the
equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park
approves of an agreement with APS Energy Services Inc. to provide an energy study for the
purpose of implementing energy conservation and facility improvement measures.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that
the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the agreement and; if necessary, make
adjustments to non - financial terms in order to execute the agreement.
