2002/07/23 City Council Resolution (9)RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 170 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A "WILL SERVE" LETTER FOR A SINGLE SEWER CONNECTION TO THE NORTHERLY PORTION (NORTH OF CRANE CREEK) OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF KEISER AND PETALUMA HILL ROADS WHEREAS, on March 27, 2002, the Planning and Community Development Director received a letter from Mr. Van Norden Logan requesting a "will serve" letter for a single sewer connection to the northerly portion of the property (north of Crane Creek) located on the northwest corner of Keiser and Petaluma Hill Roads (APN 045- 261 -001); WHEREAS, the property requested to be served is within the City's sphere -of- influence and future City limit line; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park does not have a history of providing sewer connections outside its City limits, except for the Canon Manor subdivision; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park has reviewed the request and determined that a "will serve" letter could be provided conditioned upon the City's acquisition and development of the property as a site for Community Fields. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby approve the draft "will serve" letter included herein as Exhibit A. '.fir h ', ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT EXHIBIT A To Whom It May Concern RE: Sewer Service, APN 045 - 261 -001 The City of Rohnert Park is interested in acquiring the parcel designated as "Community Fields" as shown in the Rohnert Park General Plan 2000. The City will provide a sewer connection for at least one Equivalent Single Dwelling (ESD) for the Community Fields at the time the site is developed as such only if (1) the City is able to acquire the property; and (2) the property owner is prohibited from developing the parcel with a septic system. The second condition will be satisfied if the County prohibits development of the parcel created by the parcel map for APN 045- 261 -001, with a septic system.
