2003/04/22 City Council Resolution (8)- 82
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park
Recognizing
The invaluable contribution made by Merrie Walls in
Development of the Building Department's Document Management Program
Whereas, the City's Building Department, with limited staff resources, has developed a
number of internal technologies; and
Whereas, the most prominent, as well as the most difficult amongst the technological projects,
has been the digitizing of archived construction plans; and
Whereas, the digitizing project encountered a number of problems, including technical issues
and an impure database; and
Whereas, bringing the digitizing project to its current developmental plateau and perfection
would have been impossible without skilled help; and
Whereas, Merrie Walls volunteered to provide the needed assistance and was brilliant,
consistent, and highly responsible in her approach to the work; and
Whereas, Merrie's superior technical ability was frequently displayed, including a bit of
programming, proving the value of her Computer Science degree from Sonoma State
University.
Now, Therefore, be it Resolved that the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park is most
grateful to volunteers, such as Merrie Walls, who contribute their time and knowledge to
further enhance the services that the City provides to its citizens.
Be it Further Resolved that the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park is highly
appreciative of the dedication, good cheer, and technological skills that Merrie Walls
provided as a volunteer in the City's Building Department.
