Honoring
MICHAEL, GRICE
As HONORARY CITIZEN of the CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
WHEREAS, May 15, 2003 Michael Grice left the Spreckels Performing Arts Center after fourteen years of outstanding service to
the City of Rohnert Park. He began his career with the City in March, 1989; and
WHEREAS, Michael nurtured the Performing Arts Center from start -up through his leaving. Spreckees wasn't his first performing
arts creation and will not be his last. His next stop is Modesto where he will establish his third performing arts center; and
WHEREAS, at first glance, one might not suspect that this lanky gent is a creative playwright, director, actor, and founder of the
Pacific Alliance Stage Company who has directed, written, and /or performed in musicals, dramas, and comedies; and
WHEREAS, Michael is affectionately known by staff as the Ghost of Michael Grice because of how quickly he moves. He will be
standing there, then someone turns to ask him something and he is gone! Those who know him marvel at his never - ending
energy. Staff notes that he does carry a big cup of coffee.
NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park extends its best wishes to Michael
Grice, his wife Mary, son Stewart, and daughter Alexandra. We thank Michael for carving a niche for the performing arts in
Rohnert Park. As an Honorary Citizen of Rohnert Park, we wish to honor Michael with the following:
• Lobby photo of A Walk in the Woods starring Michael Grice. Pacific Alliance Stage Company production — 1993 -94 Season
• Lifetime passes to Spreckels Performing Arts Center events for Michael and Mary,
• Name plaques for two seats in the 511 Club.
Please do not be a ghost — we want you to come back often. You will be missed.
