RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION URGING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
AIR POLLUTION CONTROL REGULATIONS WITHIN
THE COUNTY OF SONOMA
WHEREAS, many regions throughout our country are faced with
air pollution control proglems of a major nature primarily
because air pollution control was not initiated on a timely
basis, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park an-
ticipates the need for air pollution control regulations within
the County of Sonoma, and

WHEREAS, the public officials of Sonoma County should do
everything within reason to protect the quality of air within
the region, and
WHEREAS, to date public officials in Sonoma County have
not embarked upon any meaningful program to protect the quality
of air that Sonoma County residents breathe®
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Rohnert Park that the County of Sonoma and City OffiC4 Lal
in Sonoma County are urged to take appropriate measures to pro -
tect the quality of the air in Sonoma County,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Sonoma County Mayors' and
lCouncilmen's Association is -urged to appoint a committee to stud
iair pollution and report back with a definite recommendation for
1consideration by the Association,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the county of Sonoma is urged t
iassume the leadership role in this matter which is of county-
wide concern.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, Councils
of each City within Sonoma County, the Bay Area Air Pollution
Control District, the League of California Cities, Senator
Randolph Collier, Assemblyman William Bagley, and other
