1968/01/02 City Council Resolution (2)RESOLUTION NO. 68 -Ol RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK URGING THE DIVERSION OF EEL RIVER WATER THROUGH CLEAR LAKE WHEREAS, the State Department of Water Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have recently elected to route the Middle Fork of the Eel River through Glenn County, thence south, thereby by- passing Clear Lake, and; WHEREAS, the Eel River water is the last major source of water available to the north coastal counties, who will be in dire need of this water in the not too distant future, and; WHEREAS, the diversion of the Eel River through Clear Lake will protect,)preserve and enhance the waters of the largest lake wholly within the State of California, and it being encumbent upon the people of California to protect and preserve this natural resource, and very popular recrea- tion facility; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park, California, does hereby give formal expression of its objection to the Glenn County routing of the Eel River, and that the aforementioned agencies be requested to reverse their decision of the Glenn County route and endorse the Clear Lake route instead.
