RESOLUTION NO. 6 R- J 7
A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING
RESULT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD APRIL 9, 1968
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park,
Sonoma County, California, that
WHEREAS, said Council did by Ordinance No. 93, adopted on
the 22nd day of January, 1968, duly call and order a special
municipal election to be held in said City on the 9th day of
April, 1968, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
electors of said City the propositions therein set forth,
WHEREAS, said special municipal election was held and con-
ducted on said day, as required by law and said ordinance;
WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly
and legally given; that voting precincts were properly established
therefor; that sample ballots, polling place information and argu-
ments for or against said propositionswere mailed to all registered
voters in said City; election officers were appointed and election
supplies furnished; and that in all respects said election was
held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received and can-
vassed and the returns thereof made, determined and declared in
the time, form and manner as required by law;
WHEREAS, the Council of said City met at the regular meeting
place of said Council on April 16, 1968, to canvass the returns
of said election and declare the results thereof; and
WHEREAS, said canvass was duly completed and the results
thereof are as hereinafter set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY FOUND, DETERMINED and RESOLVED
as follows-.
le That said special municipal election was held and con-
ducted in the City of Rohnert Park, County of Sonoma, State of
California, on Tuesday, April 9, 1968, in the time, form and
manner required by law.
2. That there were established two (2) voting precincts .
for the purpose of holding the special municipal election, con-
sisting of either regular election precincts established for
holding state or county elections, or a consolidation of some or
all of such precincts, as follows:
Special Consolidated Precinct #1
Special Consolidated Precinct #2
3. That a canvass of the votes cast in said City upon the
measures thereat submitted was duly held and made by the County
Clerk of Sonoma County in accordance with the order of the City
Council and in accordance with law.
4. That the propositions voted upon in said special munici-
pal election and the number of votes received for and against
each of said propositions in the precincts established therefor
are as follows.-
PROPOSITION NOo 1: "Shall the City of Rohnert Park
incur a bonded indebtedness in
(Community Recreation the principal amount of One
Buildings) Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($150,000) in accordance with
the provisions of the Ordinance calling the election at
which this proposition is submitted for the acquisition,
construction and completion of community recreation
buildings, and all acquisitions, improvements, equipment,
furniture, furnishings, facilities, appurtenances and -
incidental work necessary therefor ?"

PROPOSITION NO. 20 "Shall the City of Rohnert -Park
incur a bonded indebtedness in
(Park and Recreation the principal amount of One
Facilities) Hundred Thousand Dollars
($100,000) in accordance with
the provisions of the Ordinance calling the election at
which this proposition is submitted for the acquisition,
construction and completion of park and recreation
facilities for neighborhood and community use, and all
acquisitions, improvements, facilities, equipment and
incidental work necessary therefor ?"

5. The total number of ballots cast in all of said pre-
cincts was ballots were spoiled and not
counted. The number of votes cast in all of said precincts for
Proposition No, 1 voted upon was / and the number of votes
cast in all of said precincts against Proposition Noe 1 voted upon

cincts for Proposition Noe 2 voted upon was 3004Z and the
number of votes cast in all of said precincts against Proposition

6. There were absent voters' ballots,applied for
and absent voters' ballots voted. Said absent voters'
ballots were received and canvassed in time, form and manner as
required by law, and the result of ballots cast by the absentee
voters was votes for and votes against Proposition
No. 1 and votes for and votes against Proposition
No. 20
7. The total number of ballots issued at the election,
including the absent voters' ballots, was 02— , the total
number of ballots voted was 66 /
8. The total number of votes cast for Proposition Noe 1

10. That at said election more than two-thirds of all of the
votes cast for and against Proposition No. 1 were in favor of said
Proposition No. 1 and authorized the issuing of said bonds in the
amount and for the purpose set forth in said Proposition No. 1
herein stated; that said proposition has been accepted and approved
by the electors of.said City and that said bonds will be issued to
defray the costs of the improvements heretofore specified and to
the amount stated therein.
11. That less than two-thirds of all of the votes cast for
and against Proposition No. 2 at said special municipal bond
election were in favor of Proposition No. 2 and did not authorize
the incurring of the bonded indebtedness for the purpose set
forth in said Proposition and that said Proposition did not carry.
12. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, instructed
to enter this resolution in full in the minutes of this Council
as a statement of the result of said special municipal election.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and
correct copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the City
Council of the,City of Rohnert Park, Sonoma County, California,
at a meeting thereof held on the 16th day of April, 1968, by the
following vote of the members thereof:
