1990/01/09 City Council Resolution (7)RESOLUTION NO. 90 - 09 A RESOLUTION AMENDING "OUTLINE OF CERTAIN CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT, FRINGE BENEFITS AND SALARY ADJUSTMENTS" FOR NON- REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES TO INCLUDE POLICE AND FIRE CALL OUT PAY WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No. 89 -117 adopted on the 24th day of July, 1989 approved an "Outline of Certain Conditions of Employment, Fringe Benefits and Salary Adjustments" for all regular full time and permanent part time employees not covered by separate memorandums of agreement with recognized employee organizations; and WHEREAS, there is a provision in the Memorandum of Agreement with the Rohnert Park Peace Officer's Association (RPPOA) to provide compensation for off - duty full time employees required to answer fire service alarms and other City police functions; and WHEREAS, there are a few full time employees who are a part of the City's Volunteer Fire Department and other non -sworn employees who may be called out for police functions, such as photography of crime scenes, etc.; and WHEREAS, the City should compensate those individuals who are full time or permanent part -time employees who are called out from home, on off -duty time to provide assistance for fire or police services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Rohnert Park that the "Outline of Certain Conditions of Employment" for non - represented employees be amended to add the following: Section 2.3 Compensation for off -duty full -time employees required to answer the fire service alarm shall be the normal overtime rate with a minimum of three (3) hour call out pay. 2.3.1 A fire call out means just that. Being called from home to respond to a fire call. Personnel enroute to work in a City vehicle or who have arrived at the station in preparation for reporting for their regular shift will be considered "shift extension" employees and paid for actual overtime rather than for the minimum three (3) hours at time and one half. Section 2.4 Not used. Section 2.5 That call -out for any City police function during off -duty periods shall be compensated at the normal overtime rate with a minimum of three (3) hours call out pay. Call -out time shall include off -duty court time or other official hearings on City of Rohnert Park business. Extension of shifts, at the beginning or end, will not be considered call -out duty. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Amendment shall take affect immediately and terminate on June 30, 1993 as with other provisions of the outline.
