A RESOLUTION APPROVING A COMPLIMENTARY TICKET POLICY
AT THE DOROTHY AOHNEQT 3PRECKELS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
WHEREAS, a complimentary ticket policy has been drafted by staff which
outlines certain policies and procedures for the distribution of complimentary
tickets to various groups, patrons, and other individuals; and
WHEREAS, staff has mot with the Council Committee and reviewed said
complimentary ticket policy and has made additions, deletions, or changes as it
has deemed appropriate; and
WHEREAS, this complimentary ticket policy has been discussed with the
Council at its meeting of Juno 25` 1991; and
WHEREAS, the Council has agreed to approve this complimentary ticket policy
on an interim basis to provide direction to the Director of the Performing Arts
Center in his efforts to lease the facility and maximize the use of the
Performing Arts Center.
NOW` THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Rohnert Park
that the "Complimentary Ticket Policy" attached as Exhibit A in hereby approved
on on interim basis and the City Manager and Director of the Performing ARts
Center are directed to implement said policy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staff is directed to review and make
recommendations and any changes that may be necessary to said policy upon
experience after the complimentary ticket policy has been used for a period of
time.

COMPLIMENTARY TICKET POLICY
1) The primary purpose of providing complimentary tickets is to induce the sell
of additional tickets.
2) The primary receivers of complimentary tickets are as follows:
A) Members of the Center's Resident Companies shall receive
complimentary tickets per production in which they are performing.
The Director of each company is respponsible for suppling a list of
those artists performing in the production to the Box Office Manager
at least one week before opening night. Performers must make the
complimentary ticket reservations under their name no less than 48
hours before the performance. Company complimentary ticket
allotment is pased upon the amount of tickets available for the
production and the expected number of performers particpating.
Members of the Resident Companies shall be allotted complimentary
tickets per production as follows:
Rohnert Park Symphony - 2
North Coast Ballet - 2 for Spring and Fall Concerts
1 "The Nutcracker"
Pacific Alliance Stage Company - 4 (Mainstage)
B) Full time employees of the Center shall receive two complimentary
tickets per productions with the same conditions as cited for company
performers, i.e. conditional on available, unpurchased seats, to be
used by the full time employees only.
C) Participant of special promotional programs which provide
complimentary tickets with the purchase of others, such as "2 for 1"
plans, group bulk purchases, media promotional programs, Sonoma
Express Cards, etc.
D) Those individuals, businesses, or organizations that provide assistance
through services, products, or promotions that benefit the Center shall
receive complimentary tickets based on nature of service. Examples
are Endowment Campaign Cabinet members, donors, businesses
providing services or materials free of charge, organizations who
boost the Center's activities in the community, and media outlets.
E) Center volunteers who have contributed a minimum number of hours
to Center activities shall receive complimentary tickets based on the
number of donated hours and the nature of their contribution.
F) Potential Center -goers deemed likely to regularly attend events or
become subscribers will be eligible for complimentary tickets only a
on a one -time basis in order to acquaint them with the Center and
hopefully attract their support and attendance to Center activities.
3. With the exception of the Center's employee and performing artists, all other
complimentary ticket requests must have the Center Director's authorization
before being issued. This authorization shall be in the form of a signed
Complimentary Request.
4. The Center Box Office shall have a current list of employees, volunteers, and
performing artists eligible for complimentary tickets. As these
complimentary tickets are requested, box office personnel shall mark off the
used tickets by the names of the eligible ticket receivers.
5. Box office will print and distribute complimentary tickets, for the most part,
only at the advent of each event and not when they are requested.
