OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
MAKING APPLICATION TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION
COMMISSION (LAFCO) TO INITIATE PROCEEDINGS FOR
REORGANIZATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY KNOWN AS ASSESSOR'S
PARCEL NUMBERS 045- 055 -4, 5 AND 6
PURSUANT TO THE CORTESE /KNOX
LOCAL GOVERNMENT REORGANIZATION ACT OF 1985
WHEREAS, after considerable public review and input, the City
Council adopted the Environmental Impact Report and related
proposals for the Home Depot project; and
WHEREAS, in order to implement the project, it is necessary to
annex certain property known as Assessor's Parcel Numbers
045 - 055 -4, 5 and 6 and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to the Cortese /Knox
Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985 (Government Code 5600
et. seq.), the Rohnert Park City Council hereby makes application
to the Local Agency Formation Commission of Sonoma County for a
proposed reorganization as follows:
An Annexation to the corporate boundaries of the City of
Rohnert Park of territory known as Assessor's Parcel Numbers
045 - 055 -4,5 and 6:
Said territory is uninhabited and is comprised of
approximately 9.41 acres, as described more completely
in Exhibit A (legal description and map).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the reasons for the requested reor-
ganization are:
1. The properties are contiguous to the City and are within the
adopted Sphere of Influence and General Plan Urban Limit
Line of the City of Rohnert Park.
2. The City has completed an extensive environmental review
process for the area culminating in the approval of the
project Environmental Impact Report.
3. The owner of said property has initiated said annexation.
4. By Ordinance No. 546, the City of Rohnert Park has prezoned
the various properties to CS:PD (Special Service
Commercial /Planned Unit Development) District.
5. This annexation is consistent with the objectives and poli-
cies of the General Plan, as documented elsewhere in the
FEIR and project actions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the requirements of the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and its Guidelines have been
satisfied and are thoroughly addressed in the Environmental
Impact Report adopted by City Council Resolution 91 -158 on July
23, 1991 and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council
hereby authorized and directed the City Clerk to file a certified
copy of this resolute with the Executive Officer of the Sonoma
County Local AgencN, F oration Commission.
