A RESOLUTION APPROVING A JOB DESCRIPTION
AND SETTING A PAY RATE FOR
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
PART -TIME GROUP SALES COORDINATOR
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Rohnert Park that the job
description for the position of Performing Arts Center Part -time Group Sales
Coordinator, which is attached to this resolution and by reference thereto
incorporated herein, and the pay rate for same as listed below is hereby
approved:

PART -TIME GROUP SALES COORDINATOR
DEFINITION
August 1991
Under general supervision, to prospect, solicit and sell tickets and season
subscriptions to civic groups, tour companies, churches, schools, business,
clubs, associates, etc. for the Performing Arts Center; to assist the Director of
Performing Arts in implementing underwriting activities; to coordinate sales
activities with the Performing Arts Center Marketing Director and Business /Box
Office Manager; and to perform other duties as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Plans, develops, and targets group sales activities; writes
ticket /subscription sales material; contacts various groups and group leaders to
solicit ticket and subscription sales; create and provide information regarding
group ticket /subscription purchases; coordinates and conducts sales
presentations, special events, meetings, and personal contacts; gathers and
compiles information for a variety of reports and records; assists in the
coordination of volunteers activities; assists in underwriting activities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of an appropriate California driver's license issued by the State
Department of Motor Vehicles.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Marketing and sales techniques,
Effective advertising and publicity strategies,
Modern office methods, procedures, and equipment,
Recordkeeping,
Mathematics,
Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
and
Ability to:
Plan, develop, organize, coordinate, implement, and evaluate
ticket /subscription sales activities,
Make effective public speaking presentations,
Perform statistical recordkeeping,
Operate a computer terminal,
Type a rate of 40 words per minute,
Prepare a variety of reports,
Write sales and marketing material,
Develop and maintain effective community and business relationships to
solicit and sell tickets /subscriptions,
Understand and carry out oral and written directions,
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Training and Experience: Any combination of training and experience which
would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Graduation from a four -year college or university, and
Two years of sales and marketing experience preferably in the arts or non-
profit organization.
