A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OR ROHNERT PARK
ESTABLISHING AN ANTI-DRUG POLICY FOR THE WORKPLACE
WHEREAS, a comprehensive omnibus drug interdiction,
prevention and treatment bill was passed and signed into law
before the end of the 100th Congress (HR 5210)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City council of
the City of Rohnert Park hereby adopts the following policy to
enforce those provisions:
A. This policy applies to all City Employees, including
managerial, public safety and miscellaneous personnel.
It specifies that drugs are illegal in the workplace and
that action will be taken for violations;
B„ A drug-free awareness program shall be instituted for all
employees;
C. A copy of this resolution shall be provided to all City
employees;
D. City employment shall be conditional upon requiring an
employee to notify the City of Rohnert Park of a drug-
related conviction occurring in the workplace within five
(5) days;
E. The City shall notify the appropriate federal agency
within ten (10) days of an employees drug-related
conviction;
F. Employees shall be sanctioned for violations or required
to participate in a treatment program;
G. The City shall make the "good faith" effort to maintain a
drug-free workplace by following the above requirements,
