A RESOLUTION APPROVING SUBMITTAL OF A
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE, NON-DISCRETIONARY GRANT
WHEREAS,
the City of Rohnert Park and the City of Cotati did
jointly conduct
a Household Hazardous Waste Pickup Day on June 8, 1991
at the Rohnert
Park Stadium parking lot; and
WHEREAS,
183 Rohnert Park residents and 69 Cotati residents did
participate in
the Household Hazardous Waste Pickup Day; and
WHEREAS,
a total of 2,500 gallons of hazardous waste was
collected during the Household Hazardous Waste Pickup Day; and
WHEREAS,
the total cost for conducting the Household Hazardous
Waste Pickup Day was $15,913.87; and
WHEREAS,
the Integrated Waste Management Board has established
the Household
Hazardous Waste Grant Program the purpose of which is to
award grants
to cities, counties, and local agencies for local
programs that
help prevent the disposal of household hazardous waste
at solid waste
landfills.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Rohnert Park City
Council that submittal of an application for a Household Hazardous
Waste, Non-Discretionary Grant for reimbursement for the costs of
conducting a Household Hazardous Waste Pickup Day on June 8, 1991 is
hereby approved and the City Manager is authorized to submit the
application.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, if the grant application i
approved, the grant proceeds will be distributed between the City
Cotati and the City of Rohnert Park in proportion to the cost incurrel
by each jurisdiction.
DULY AND REGULARLY ADOPTED by the Rohnert Park City Council this
10th day of September 11 1991.
